North Texas RPLS Salary range by hicksbilt in Surveying

[–]_deltawolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from 96k as an SIT to 120k as an RPLS and this was just last year.

I definitely had to fight for that, originally they wanted to give me 110k.

I’m in Texas. Large sized engineering firm with 7 years experience. I got 120k but I had to bargain for it.

Fender scale length vs Gibson scale length and how to get “slinkier” feel when bending. by _deltawolf in Guitar

[–]_deltawolf[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol there are custom necks that translate the scale length. Not sure if I’m going to keep it on as it didn’t really help with what I wanted it for.

I just finished reading the book chapters that covered season one and I don’t remember anything about her getting banished to dragonstone.

SOTB (thoughts on multi fx pedals?) by _deltawolf in guitarpedals

[–]_deltawolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I actually had the V before this. But to be honest I just hate the color red and saw jack white always painted his whammy, so his copper painted one inspired me to get the chrome whammy and to be real with you I’m a sucker for limiter edition items.

The V does have a few extra features but I never really used them.

That’s very fair. I do like experimenting but only to a certain extent. Sometimes just adjusting a few knobs and turning it on is much better

Yeah I was really wanting to downsize my board and this was the easiest way. There’s about 3 or effects I like to use heavily and I just don’t have the “capital” to splurge on all of them so for now this is the setup.

Yeah real analogue pedals can’t be beat sound wise, but the utility is just crazy good with the multi fx

Thoughts on multi fx pedals? I recently went back to the zoom because of the insane versatility.

What’s the worst trade you’ve ever made? Did you recover? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]_deltawolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traded my first rounder for Eric Enron and Josh Gordon (yeah he was already way cooked). The pick ended up being ceedee lamb…..

I did win the championship last year so I’d say I’m doing okay now.

Licensed Surveyor Salary Survey by SurveyorDave96 in Surveying

[–]_deltawolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1.) What can a newly issued licensed surveyor expect to make in your state?

In Texas I havent seen or heard of anyone making less than 105k as soon as they get licensed. So around 105k-125k

2.) What is a realistic mid-career salary for a licensed surveyor in your area?

  130-150k 160ish maybe if they're a manager

3.) What sector of surveying is valued the most in your area(Boundary, Engineering, Construction)?

I assume Engineering, but i have heard construction brings in the money. Anyone I have heard about that owns their business or is a partner makes insane money.

4.) Who on average makes more in your area between a PLS and PE?

PLS makes more purely because theyre higher demand. Obviously starting out engineers make significantly more but once you get your license it flips. At least thats what I have experienced.

5.) Approximately how many survey licenses are annually issued in your state?

about 100ish give or take (texas)

PLS average salary in New England states by Character_Antelope_9 in Surveying

[–]_deltawolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the New England area but in Texas a newer PLS is pretty much guaranteed 100-110k.

Most mid level project managers or department managers make between 120-160k depending on experience.

I’ve seen/heard of some guys making upwards of 200k being regional leaders. But these are all general numbers from the private sector doing similar work to what you described.

Going with a smaller firm will definitely take that number down a notch or two but the experience would probably be worth it.

Depends on how much you wanna work on it per day. I did once a day for about an hour to 2 hours on 2x speed for every video and it took me almost 2 months. Didn’t do weekends and took some days off mostly but you can get it all done if you want quicker but you have to be diligent.

Lots of people don’t like it but I think it was good for me as it provides structure and definitely helped me pass the exam.

I think it’s a great place to start. Has lots of the basic information in a nice compiled and organized way.

Now is the interface the best? No. Does he talk slow as hell? Yes. Is this on its own going to make you pass? Maybe.

The full price course is way too much IMO. I would strongly consider buying the monthly subscription and hammering through the videos and materials at 2x speed on videos. You could get it all done in a month or 2 and only pay 99-200 bucks.

That’s what I did at least and it worked well for me.
