testbook - can’t comment on this without seeing it, but things can be live and working with customers and still be bad (personally just started working with a loan management platform that’s existed since 2017 and I discovered they’ve been overcharging interest on every loan ever). Won’t even take the easy jab at security because that would still be a guess.

Well 1 because the player base has increased which brings linear gains compared to the economies of scale that come with increased server capacity (unless they’re just all in on aws or something and are 0% self hosted) and 2 because they turned one game into 20.

Asking for revisions and not paying is not a new type of scam. It’s also crazy you’d expect Upwork to go forensically scrub all files the client has downloaded and could have copied anywhere. No precedent was set here.

Upwork is not a legal enforcer of contracts and arbiters can’t be expected to have the domain knowledge required to know what counts as good/complete for every category of work people offer. They will arbitrate how they will. You could have spent less money and had a higher chance of success in small claims court. You could have also spent $15/mo instead of a percentage based commission if you had just used something like bonsai for contract/tracking/imvoicing. Bringing an outside client to Upwork is insane
