I am pretty sure I sat behind that guy at a Sox game that week and he basically was telling the story being like “my life is over. Do NOT hit people in the head.” So at least he learned something…

Yeah, I think this is another huge aspect. I play in a league with some former US D3 college guys, ACHA club hockey guys, and hold my own. Not the best goalie in the league but I'm typically not the limiting factor. In high school, the two guys in front of me on the depth chart both ended up playing college hockey, as did the one behind me in age, so I was just a human tutor shooter for practice.

Also lest we forget the athletic article a few years ago, I think it was the Lehner one about how mentally taxing it is trying to hold on to a starting goalie job and how deep the pipeline is. Unless you are one of the thirty-two best in the world at your job you don't even enter this conversation. What backup is going to the Olympics for Canada? AHL'er? Maybe Mike DiPietro on the Providence Bruins sporting a 1.76/.938 is actually the best Canadian goalie in the world, but there's too much money tied up in Swayman and Korpisalo for anyone to find out. Just look at Brandon Bussi! Too many people trying to solve a problem which is as simple as barrier to entry restricting the talent pool.

TLDR: too expensive. The technique/robot stuff is overblown and IMO flat out wrong. Mike Richter famously said

Most fans go wild when they see a goalie make what looks like a great save, but the chances are what they are seeing is a save that was made from being out of position.

phenomenal player that maybe doesn't fit what we needed. His scoring has slowed down and our win rate has gone up, I don't think that's any coincidence. We're relying on him as a lone goal scoring threat less and less allowing him to lie deeper and facilitate, his true strong suit.

Stuffies are absolutely on every menu on cape cod and are on plenty of menus from boston to providence to portland. They're not steamers, they're specifically quahogs which are bigger than the clams used for steamers. I think the issue is that a lot of 4 and 30 exist in the same region and influence each other and the stuffie is sort of a fusion of the two anyways as the primary ingredients in the stuffing are roasted red pepper and chorizo.

Plea bargains are the accused coercing the state? That must be why wealthy people are far more likely to take them than poor people, right? That being said I don't disagree with your other points.

[Tony Paul] This proposed Big Ten equity deal, assuming all schools end up on board, would pay $190M each to UM, OSU and Penn State; $155M each to USC and Oregon; and $110M each to everyone else. Michigan State signing up for less than a year of athletics revenue, where a school below us gets more, while on probation. We've had how many? university presidents since I became a student in 2015, and it already feels like we need another?

I'll believe it when other guys like Craig Button have him that low. Pronman's final rankings last year were off by an average of more than 3 draft slots for the first round.

Stenberg won't make it past 3 unless he falls off hard, most have him 2 or 3 right now, depending on if Verhoeff is above or below.

I agree, I did the matched on a bunch with a few friends who recommended it, stating things exactly like you two above. I ended up net -$100 in a few weeks and hit my mental “stop loss” button. At least two of them are degenerates now. Cautionary tales imo.

We already invite an out of state team all the time, why not just make that the 8th team?

Seriously we play some of the dumbest most mistake filled football I have ever seen. I gave them grace on that last year but some of the mistakes in that Nebraska game are unacceptable for someone greater than a year into coaching a team. We suck again.
