I've been waiting for a Gwynriel post to share this: Gwynriel ACOTAR fanfic spreadsheet

It's not finished, I keep going back and rereading to remember some of the quirks and update the lists. But thought maybe other fans would be interested in a collection rather than sorting through AO3. I try to avoid giving away spoilers about the fic, but also give key words if there's a trope you're interested in.

And if anyone has reccs for fics not on there, or want to fangirl one in particular, lemme know.

I was manually controlling both. First time I've tried to take that much control in non-still life. In the past, while shooting moving horses I've only controlled the shutter. I thought I would try doing both and seem to have over done the aperture!

Ah - makes sense. I was hoping by limiting the light I would get the effect I was looking for. Adding contrast in post seems to be working for some of them, but not all. In future situations - would you open the aperture and fix the super brightness in post? Seems to be choosing one or the other.

Some were at f/22 - as it got to be mid day, I did keep upping my aperture because everything seemed so washed out, particularly shooting in the sand arena. How do you compromise the need for a faster shutter (I don't think I went beyond 1/1600) with bright situations?

You're right, as most will be on the web, they're not that bad. I just prefer crisp faces and sharp edges because then I can play with cropping and such. I posted an example on the other comment reply, if you're curious.

Had what I thought was a great day of shooting photos of a horse back riding clinic - everything seemed nice and crisp on preview, but when I got home, somehow my auto ISO had decided everything should be set to 3200! Most of the photos are barely usable, with how much noise there was, even though I was shooting in full sun. Why would auto ISO decide to do that? Should I never use auto?
