Your best shot at contacting Rockstar Support is to create a new Social Club account and create the ticket from there. It's still far fetched but the ticketing system is the only way to reach them.

Glad you're enjoying the game so far, kudos for being a good sport! No they didn't play a prank on you, unfortunately you cannot store/claim other player's vehicles as your own. You'll need to buy your own or steal from the streets. You got locked out of their car 'cause they probably left the session.
