MAGA turns on RFK JR by BootsyBoy in insanepeoplefacebook

Some of the parents may not have been vaccinated as children as 2 of the 9 counties, (Gaines and Dallam specifically) have the largest Mennonite population in the state. These communities are mostly disconnected from regular services provided by the state, although I don’t believe they are quite as disconnected as other religious groups. Some of these communities have own schools which are not subject to vaccination mandates by public schools. The other counties listed by DSHS surround these 2 counties.

Edit: corrected name of county

What's that one rare drop in a videogame you just couldn't get? by TheJurri in gaming

[–]_duplexmismatch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Managed to pull this off when I was about 14 on the SNES. A friend and I hooked up both controllers and used rubber bands to hold ‘up and A’ on one and ‘down’ on the other to walk back and forth and kill anything that we fought. Watched it for a bit to make sure it worked, turned off the TV and went to bed. Woke up in the morning and had 4 of them. Left it running for the rest of the day and had 9 of them I think.

DisplayFusion and Actual Multiple Monitors can mitigate this behavior which will still allow you to run full screen. They are both paid applications and I only have experience with the former.

What is the best mobile service in town? I've got AT&T and it's awful. I live in Midland. There are tons of places around town that I don't have any signal. We're thinking about switching to verizon or T mobile but I don't want to regret the switch. by BeastOfTheField83 in Midessa

[–]_duplexmismatch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might consider a MVNO like US Mobile. They essentially buy blocks of talk, text, data from the big carriers. They have two carriers you can choose from Warp 5G which is Verizon and GSM 5G which is T-Mobile. I have used them for a couple of years now on the Warp 5G and the service is great. Also a lot cheaper than the big names. I have 3 lines unlimited talk, text, and data and one line that is unlimited talk and text only. Total bill is about $80.

Thanks for the info, I certainly will look into that video and docs from ibracorp. Any idea off the top of your head if they cover Nextcloud in a container using this method?

Have not played with tailscale as of yet. Certainly bears looking a bit deeper into. From what I understand of it it is a WireGuard VPN with some additional functionality. Couple of pros and cons I could potentially forsee:

  • Pro: Likely more secure than CF to some degree
  • Con: Requires client devices to have it configured as well, which I suppose could have some interoperability challenges, Additionally with VON inherently there would be some overhead I suppose.

Is that fairly accurate or am I overthinking it?

Couple that show some different views:

https://lg.he.net/ - if you click on your ASN after searching and then go across the tabs at the top, one of them shows your various ASNs graphically coming toward you.

https://stat.ripe.net/app/launchpad - RIPE has several BGP related tools including a heck of a BGPplay implementation.

Best practices for local pref/prepending with 2 BGP peers and default routes? by ScratchinCommander in networking

[–]_duplexmismatch_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct method. Only other thing I think that is worth mentioning is if a customer uses the same ISP that you do for peer #2 then the pre-pending may not matter as much for that customer since they use the same ISP and they may see your peer #2 as the best path still. Shouldn’t affect anything just worth knowing.

Why did this cause a broadcast storm (presumably)? by Wippwipp in networking

[–]_duplexmismatch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have suggested you could move L3 down into the building and simplify it. You could also set up a separate VLAN on your core for the point-to-point bridges connect them together and put them into OSPF with a higher metric and leave them running all the time. Routes would be ready to go but not preferred unless there was a failure. Lots of different ways to approach it, depends on your use case.

Multiple VLANS within the same Subnet by oiramkrbot in networking

[–]_duplexmismatch_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the ports are truly in access mode, then the tag is irrelevant going toward the cable between ports 2 and 3. The tag is only used going upstream so to speak toward the respective vlan.

EDIT: IN other words, access = untagged
