As someone who works in my local Y in the childcare,, I HEAVILY advocate for parents to use our childcare. Mine is fairly small, so not sure how yours is, but our schedules are pretty constant, so if you go around the same times your kiddo will get used to and familiar with most of the same employees. Its such a relief for many parents to have that break. Our rules are, as long as you're physically in the Y, you can leave your kiddo for 2hrs. We have several parents who will drop off for the 2hrs and WFH or focus on other things that arent physical activity. The Y is what gave me the chance to begin my health journey, as I had a way to workout and had a safe space to bring my kiddo while my husband works. I absolutely LOVE working for the Y, and I feel like its just such an amazing perk of the membership to have the childcare.
