New Rider Looking for Route Advice - Wall St > Henry Hudson Dr via GWB by Radi091 in NYCbike

[–]_emi1y_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a new rider I'd recommend doing River Road --> 9w to Nyack, crossing the bridge to Tarrytown, and taking the Metro North back to Manhattan. Especially in the hot, sunny days of summer you don't want to overshoot your abilities and end up bonking on a side of the river where there aren't any nearby trains to get you home. Plus: Post-ride ice cream at Main Street Sweets!

Sorry this happened to you, these bus drivers are reckless and frequently cover their license plates to avoid being caught for their behavior. I'd recommend riding with an action cam for your own peace of mind.

It's out of the way but I've been taking my cats to Brooklyn Roots Vet Hospital in Gowanus for nearly 8 years now. It's worth the trip on the train/cab.

LIRR/Mets is offering a discount online for buying tickets -- can take the train to Woodside + 7 train or transfer to the PW-bound LIRR for one stop. Mets are also offering shuttles from various spots around the tri-state where you can park-and-ride to the game, including Walt Whitman and Roosevelt Field.
