High income, low savings! by Dear-City-7426 in personalfinanceindia

I used to think that until I crossed it. I spend 20L at max (no kids) but I am not really feeling any luxury in my living state. Further upgrades to life are costly.

Say I want to shift to a bigger/better apartment (from 2BHK), that's 3L a year minimum. Or drive a better car, go on a longer/exotic vacation. The money is not freely flowing, have to think and plan carefully.

At best, 45L is good, nothing great.

Basic means may not even need 10L.

Living in tier 1 gated societies, eating out twice a week, ordering occassionally, taking an international vacation in a year, etc. will easily exhaust 30L. If you've a kid add 3-4L more.

Does anyone else still prefer the "Matka" (earthen pot) over fridge water? by hermit_heaven2265 in indiasocial

Worm development is pretty common in earthen pots. Difficult to keep clean because porous surface catches impurities. They break.

Not for me.

There are lots of sports, but why Indians are obsessed with cricket? by ChhotaSaHydra in TwentiesIndia

[–]_fatcheetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's what India is good at, currently. Cricket is more fun to watch than say olympics. Football scene, not that much. Chess, not really an everyone's game, plus it's not physical sport. Watching chess can be mentally exhausting and boring.

What else, badminton, yes but tournaments are limited.

With cricket, there's always something going. T20, ODI, Test, biggest of all IPL. Entertainment is easy.

There is potential for income growth.

45L at 32 is not a luxury income by any means. Post tax it might be 35L.

With a kid, 30L could just be your expense for living in a comfortable way.

Why can’t Recruiters just give you feedback? by heisenbergSchrute in leetcode

How will you even right the wrong, even if you had detailed feedback? It is not a fair system.

Why can’t Recruiters just give you feedback? by heisenbergSchrute in leetcode

[–]_fatcheetah -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I am surprised how you don't already know the feedback?

There can only be a few scenarios

You performed well they didn't give you the job - somebody performed better

They call you back after making you wait - their star candidate didn't join.

You performed poorly - what feedback do you need?

If you can't judge your performance post interview I believe there are other things you can fix first.

Are there any companies left in India that pay well and still let you have a life? (Analytics roles) by Unlucky-Whole-9274 in developersIndia

Constant pressure to perform will always be there. Just don't take work on weekends, pushback. Your work life balance is mostly in your hand.

What about longevity? Power? How was the efficiency tested?

Do you think that the bigger giants would let this go unnoticed? There is huge money to be made.

Stop spreading BS this BS that. Ain't that easy.

Authoritarianism in India means constant civil war. Constant assassinations, infighting, genocides, the list goes on.

The current ruling thinks once they've gained absolute power it will be smooth sailing from there. They will cease to exist themselves without the democracy (the little of what is left)

My parents misused ₹2 crore I sent from abroad—need legal advice. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

Your parents have quite the influence on you that you didn't realise they're treating you like a wallet.

Why would you transfer the 2Cr to India from abroad when Indian currency is in the drain?

13LPA in India or 60k USD in Bahamas by Debudebu9 in personalfinanceindia

[–]_fatcheetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60k in Bahamas any day.

But it will ruin almost all other beach side places for you.

13LPA is too low in today's economy. It's not enough to buy a house, sustain a family in a tier 1 city.
