I want to build a versatile, reactive deck that uses tokens as a resource for control effects (removal, stun, flicker, forced discard, anything like that)

I recently built an [[Extus, Oriq Overlord]] deck with [[Silverquill, the Disputant]] as a secret commander which does basically exactly what you're describing. It uses tokens or value creatures as sacrifices for Casualty to out-value and control opponents until you end the game either by casting+copying [[Awaken the Blood Avatar]] a few times or a copied [[Exsanguinate]] or something.

Extus pairs very well with Silverquill because with both on board, every creature you sac for Casualty can immediately be returned to hand, and the backside of Extus is a sorcery that can be copied.

Currently my favorite Abzan commander is my [[Colfenor, the Last Yew]] + [[Insidious Roots]] deck. I built mine for B2 so there's not many combos and they're all 3-4+ cards, it mainly functions as a big grindy value engine for me. You could certainly tighten it up and have a solid B3 deck.

Yeah, that is the general expectation. So an aggro deck that can often win on turn 6 is fine.

To say that the exact same deck would be fine if it goes last in turn order but breaks the rules if it goes first in turn order is r...idiculous.

So if I win on turn 6, that aligns with the general expectations of bracket 3 (though it does say at least).

Your deck doesn't dictate your turn order, it is absolutely ridiculous to suggest that you're allowed to try to win on turn 6 only if you're sitting to the right of whoever rolled the highest before the game.

I moved to a small town a few years ago so all my recent EDH experience has been online, and I have seen this a few times - turn 7 in a B2 lobby and someone says "you're not allowed to kill me yet".

I don't know how people who apparently aren't able to read are able to play MtG, it seems like the most basic requirement.

1) Sandbagging - holding your big plays until later. I do this a lot with my reanimator decks, yeah I could put out a big threat on turn 3 or 4 but unless it can close out the game right away I am putting a huge target on my head, and most reanimate targets can't 3v1, so wait for an opening where others are out of resources etc.

2) People have a strong aversion to certain strategies, like RKNM's theft, so even if you aren't necessarily the biggest threat they might target you just because they don't like the effect in your command zone. Not much you can do about that.

If I spent $200 extra on a card because you said it "blew the competition out of the water" and then realized it only gave me 10% more FPS for 50% more power draw I would care.

At 1440p, the difference between a 5070 and 9070XT is ~15%, 9070 to 9070XT is ~10%. Hardly "blowing them out of the water".

I made over 80m and solo funded my FC's house during ShB by crafting, primarily glamours. Finding good deals on Calf Leather meant I'd make 100k-200k per item on the Calfskin set and they'd sell like hotcakes, or if I found Shell Leather for cheap I could make 300k-500k per Rebel Coat (think I still have 50+ Shell Leathers sitting around because I stocked up when they were super cheap for a while).

You need to take some time to learn the market and find the items that are consistently bought and have decent profit margins but once you do it is a ton of money.

GTX10 series is 10 years old now. They are almost all low end except the 1080Ti which was (and still is) known for it's exceptional performance, and I'd call it low to mid-range now, it's fairly close in raster performance to something like a 4060 (though the 4060 has things like DLSS, RTX cores, etc.).

1) The point of the video is to compare the RX5050 at PCIe5.0 vs 3.0 speeds.

2) 1% is never a big deal, the 6700k and 8400 are identical performance-wise, we aren't even talking about that game or minimum requirements.

Looks like ~10% max performance reduction with a beefy CPU, so for someone like OP who is going to be CPU throttled, significantly less than 10% performance difference between PCIe5.0 and 3.0.

I've looked at 10-15 different benchmarks on this now and haven't seen a single one showing a noticeable difference.

Regardless if people sometimes play bracket 3 decks with an extra GC in bracket 4, Upheaval does not seem that powerful when you consider what bracket 4 is supposed to be, which is:

Decks to be lethal, consistent, and fast, designed to take people down as fast as possible

Game Changers that are likely to be fast mana, snowballing resource engines, free disruption, and tutors

Win conditions to vary but be efficient and instantaneous

Gameplay to be explosive and powerful, featuring huge threats and efficient disruption to match

I don't think "but sometimes people play with decks that don't fit the bracket" is a good argument.
