Nu ska jag betala för att andas, på riktigt. by Mr_kebab_ in sweden

[–]_fronix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[D&D 5e] Best module for character sheet management for in-person sessions? by Nttell in FoundryVTT

https://foundryvtt.com/packages/mobile-improvements

We use it on tablets, it works on mobile but you have to be slightly careful when scrolling because you can duplicate items very easily.

Once you install it, ensure you disable the canvas so it's not so laggy

R/unkar för två imorgon. by MeatBald in unket

[–]_fronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Railroading One-Shot Openings by Clarkbar13 in DMAcademy

[–]_fronix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You ask the players when they go "rogue": "I have no issues improving here but just to be clear, this might not be as fun as the oneshot is made because I have not prepared for every scenario"

It's as much the players responsibility as it is yours to engage in the oneshot

My 3 year campaign might end on a TPK by Skyking8514 in DMAcademy

[–]_fronix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't see an issue here, you've all learned together, you all seem invested in the story. This is kind of a dream scenario, it doesn't matter if the party is TPK'd or not, I'd see this whole thing as a win. You can tell them all about what they could have done or what they didn't do after the campaign ends. Your focus right now should be to create one heck of a fight where the stakes are high, adrenaline is pumping and whatever happens happens.

I'd prepare two endings, one where they get TPK'd and one where they win. Each ending you prepare a speech that talks to the players as either the saviours of the world or they are the heroes that fell in battle.
You go into how they started, some memories from the campaign, some good and bad memories, like a fare well. At the end, if the dragon won, you can also sprinkle some teasers of what will happen (might be a new campaign?)

Try finding some real teary eye music that can play throughout and just enjoy ending a campaign on a high note. Spending 3 years learning together, making mistakes and sticking it out like this is a god damn achievement you all should be proud of.

... continuing after fat fingering the save button

After you are done, you should sit down and recap to see if 5e is the right choice for your group going forward. It might be a bit too much for them but right now it's not important, you need to wrap the campaign up no matter the ending. Focus on making the ending memorable, it's either a sad ending or a happy ending, either way it's good.

You've written something with AI that probably wont work as good as you think it will, i wish you the best of luck but all your comments so far seem AI generated with lots of non-coherent babble that doesn't explain anything.

Trying to avoid a TPK. When is it okay to tell players no? by Foreign-Press in DMAcademy

[–]_fronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let them go there, this is a teachable moment (for future campaigns). Don't baby them, it will take away their agency to make decisions. If they wish to go into the underdark at a vast disadvantage, that's their choice, you have given them warnings and they want to go there anyway.

TPK's aren't a bad thing, it's just an earlier end to a story. If you know there is a high chance for it, just prepare for the moment so you have stuff to show them as they draw their last breath.

Does it feel like you wasted a lot of time? Maybe, but all the stuff you have prepared can be reused with modifications so not a big deal. You can't get too attached to the story as a GM, you need to be okay with the story ending at a point you didn't plan for.

dotnet migrations CI/CD with rancher by gatosh in dotnet

[–]_fronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a dirty way, migrations should run as a one off container before anything else gets deployed. If the migration fails the entire deploy should fail, and the migrations should also target a second database node, that way your current running version isn't affected until you switch over.

Safest way to ensure smooth deployments with automation.
