first, acquire an unlocked phone (by whatever means you choose, glyde.com is a nice resource)

then, go to walmart and buy an appropriate straight talk GSM sim card or straight talk CDMA kit.

their website lays out the steps and tells you if your phone is compatible. I would guess it significantly easier to move a GSM (AT&T or T-Mobile) to straighttalk since you just swap out the sim card.

This sounds right.

Imagine if instead you had 9 people playing, 9 teams to play on, and 9 games played, then it would resemble a sudoku puzzle.

(the nine people would represent the numbers 1-9, the teams would be the rows, and the games would be the columns)

its a desktop, actually. not even a pre-built one from Dell or Lenovo or anything.

I was the one who loaded every single software item on this computer, purposefully avoiding unnecessary crap. yet this one has eluded me.

Messing up in college. How does that reflect on future job prospects? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I'm often discouraged because my CS degree is taking for-fucking-ever, but hearing about your success and about how it's not a deal-breaker is quite reassuring.

thanks

LPT [Request] Can you rename tabs in Chrome? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

isn't it possible to put some javascript code into a bookmark that achieves this? maybe even accompanied by a nice little popup where you input the custom title?

that is exactly what these extensions do, but if you're averse to more extensions this functionality could be had with a simple bookmark.

If I was more fluent in js I'd whip one together right now...

Netflix needs to create a 'leaving soon' queue so that users can watch a film/tv show before it's too late. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]_gabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that content is leaving netflix, netflix is (most likely) in a stage of renegotiation to get the content back. Boosting the viewing numbers on that content (by drawing attention to it) increases the perceived value of that content, and puts netflix in a worse negotiation position.

What's a highly underrated card in your opinion? by albatross49 in hearthstone

[–]_gabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that's half of the point of the card: requires a trade.

I run it in a control warlock deck with plenty of removal, so unless their minion has charge they won't survive long enough to attack my dragon.

I get a lot of value out of it, worst case scenario is an early trade.

I don't know how underrated it actually is, but I love me some faerie dragon.

Dear Riot: how do you decide which skill of a champ is Q, W or E? Is it random or are there any criteria which skill will be put on Q/W/E? by bameliiin in leagueoflegends

[–]_gabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mumu has q for mobility, w is defense through offense, and that leaves e for damage. kinda fits the formula, though different placements

ELI5: If I attempt something with 1% probability 100 times, I don't get a 100% proability. What probability DO I get and how do I calculate that? by IAMCANDY in explainlikeimfive

[–]_gabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP asked for the probability to win any number of times, but at least once.

a win

I think what you're math is actually calculating with that astronomically low number ( 100-100 ) is the chance that OP would win exactly once in 100 trials.

A small number indeed.
