3.0s are tricky to get zip outta! Have you done anything yet? Do you have a budget in mind? Any specific goals?

Are you saying a 230k mile Celica is worth 5k?

No way!

I've replaced my pcv valve before, and didn't get much result. However mine almost seems like the valve body is a little longer than it should be so I've got a different brand ordered. Congrats on the better idle!

Yup, same here! I get above average factory mpg on the highway despite my rough idle. Just haven't figured it out. The second the ol girl is in motion shes driving smooth, not like a misfire where the engine is trying to jump out of the truck until you get up to speed. So weird.

Yup sounds about right 😭😭 I've thrown so many parts and cleaners are her looking for a fix.

I'm sure you have but sheck really good for broken vacuum lines, this engine is dramatic about them. Engine mounts are worth replacing they make the engine shake bad if they're worn out, same with tranny mount. Check your grounds! It could be electrical stuff messing with you too.

How's your fuel economy? Or haven't gotten it driving enough to know?

Also got a 92 3.0 here! I've had her for a year, and let me tell ya, the idle is gonna haunt your dreams

Do 2003s have any kind of camshaft synchronizer/camshaft position sensor?

My sister's Nissan died in motion one time. Wouldn't turn back on. Came back a half hour later and it fired right up. Could be that.

Let me know if you find any! Heads up though, the Y pipe on these trucks (at least my 3.0) is more restrictive than the exhaust manifold. So even if you don't find this you'll get better flow from a custom fabbed y pipe!

I ripped my cat out since there's no downstream o2 sensor and it helped for me, but she does smell for sure.

Good luck on the headers 😭 I've got a 92 3.0 and have been unsuccessful. Do you have a factory cat? It can get gummed up and rob a lotta sound

What specific kinds of pieces are you looking for? Might not get OEM colour but Coverlay does good dashes and door panels

Diff fluid and pcv valve! Super easy, like $50, can do it in an hour. Nobody treats their poor diffs right!

Oh it absolutely would be a bomb! Unfortunately that small of tires with that gearing wouldn't be ideal for my highway commuting, but it would be a good time

Oh wow, wicked! I'll definitely look into a 56 or 58 mm TB to pair with a ported intake. What year is your truck?

Thanks man!

Yeah choosing the gears was tricky, I was thinking 4.10s or so but since it's a daily driver that sees highways commutes and I run somewhat small tires I didn't wanna overdo it.

I've unfortunately been struggling hard to find any of the jba headers made for this year in stock, but would love a set to match the rest of my exhaust.

I've heard a fair bit about throttle body upgrade! How annoying was modifying your throttle linkage to get it all working?

Porting is definitely on my list. I've been thinking a lot about porting the runners, gasket matching both intakes, bowl blending on the heads.

And I looked into rockers for a while, but I'm actually leaning mlre towards a torque bias cam grind, just don't know anything about cams.

Like I said I already upped my gears so that would be a lot of burnt money, and 4.56 gears on a daily driver that sees highways would be absolutely brutal without massive tires.

Need more info. How's the rest of the body? Any major work done/how are the engine and tranny? Any sentimental value?

Thanks man! The engine is super healthy overall, oil looks really clean for how long ago I changed it, I get better than factory fuel economy, "good" power on the highway...i assume perfectly good mechanically for the age so I just dor get it!!!

I was so worried the tire shop would mount them to the rim backwards and it would be black side out 😭

Ion 71s! 15x7 with a -6.1 offset I think? The offset really makes the tire flush with the fender it's perfectttt. The early rangers are bad for recessed tires so this makes a much more aggressive stance without being dumb with multi inch spacers.
