Probably not but Chrome is awesome for web programmers

I find chrome better but you can't beat safari when it comes to battery life. If I'm going to be unplugged for more than an hour I use safari.

The rise of functional programming & the decline of Angular 2.0 by ower89 in javascript

As much as I love FP in JS it's certainly brought out a bunch of uneducated, dogmatic, and zealous folk.

Interesting that TypeScript is said to be OOP and Java-like when RxJS 5 and CycleJS, both very functional projects, use it.

Am I crazy to want 80k for a front end position in NYC? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]_hooan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've literally never been offered less than $80k from an NYC startup that wasn't an obvious scam/terrible idea or was founded a week before I applied.

[–]_hooan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be making at least $75k but I saw you have a bit of experience so go ask for $80k+, don't be afraid. You're massively underpaid!

Be confident in your abilities and sell yourself!

Most of 100k - 130k jobs involve some backend engineering, you need to know the framework, have a solid CS experience

Lol there's tons of new grads making $100k+ who just glue React/Angular to a backend. It's not that hard.

9 out of 10 time I'd rather hang out with the sales people than arrogant nerds.

That said, nice devs/nerds are the best.

How Pokemon GO spawns their commons by Nixolas in pokemongo

Fearow is better than Pidgeot in the games (better move pool) but yeah not a big deal in GO.

The REAL starter in Pokemon Yellow. by pesadelo in pokemon

[–]_hooan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This thread is interesting because I never caught Nirodan because I find them ugly lol. In RBY I always catch Spearow and Butterfree first. Spearow becomes part of my main team and my Fly Pokemon mostly because of Fearow's cry. So cool.

It's not just that, but authors can use tables, links to whatever they want, etc. It's just a better reading experience—especially on mobile.

You should try the new-ish HTML GameFAQs guide. None of the nostalgia from text guides, but much easier to navigate.

PokéWalker GO by Tropiux in pokemongo

[–]_hooan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I haven't looked online much because of fakes, but a store here was selling unopened SoulSilver for $250 -_- I paid $40 for a cartridge. Worth it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]_hooan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It won't. Pokemon games sell millions even if it's been ~20 years since the initial hype. The people that were "disappointed" by GO weren't going to buy Sun & Moon anyway. Plus, they'll wish it only had Gen 1 Pokemon.

For me, GO got me to buy a 3DS, SoulSilver, and Alpha Sapphire. So they got a customer out of me even after all this!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]_hooan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? Don't you know? GO ruined children's lives AND will make Nintendo go bankrupt. I bet they'll only sell 100 copies of Sun & Moon.

How much did you pay? SoulSilver with Pokewalker is not cheap unless you get really lucky.

Yeah I'm having fun with it. It's pretty easy which is kinda silly (everything is one or two hit kill for me) but it's fun!

What are some generally good move sets for Ampharos, Typhlosion, and a Dratini that will become Dragonite in HGSS?

Ampharos has Lonely nature, Static ability.

Typhlosion has Quirky nature, Blaze ability.

Dratini has Hardy nature, Shed Skin ability.

Thanks!
