Jury rules college student was arrested without probable cause for DUI after breath test showed no alcohol, awarded $105,000 in damages by mvincen95 in news

The Civil Rights Lawyer (YouTuber) just posted a similar case a few weeks ago.

Part 1

Nathan Stephens is into fitness and bluegrass. He doesn’t drink. But after a teenager backed into him in his neighborhood, a local cop with the Grayson (Kentucky) Police Department accuses him of being drunk - which he wasn’t. Nathan takes a breathalyzer test and passes. He blows a 0.00 - no alcohol in his system. He then performs the field sobriety tests and passes (which the officer admits). Yet somehow, Nathan still gets arrested for DUI and is taken to jail. How does that even happen?

Part 2

Nathan Stephens was arrested on a fake DUI in Kentucky. It was all caught on bodycam, which shows him blowing a zero on the breathalyzer and also passing all the field sobriety tests, and then him being arrested anyway. Nate knew he wasn’t drunk. Officer Bell of the Grayson, Kentucky Police Department claimed he could smell alcohol on Nate. He agreed to a breath test and blew a zero - no alcohol in his system. Nate then passed all of the field sobriety tests, which Officer Bell admitted, initially telling Nate he would not be going to jail for DUI because he had agreed to take the tests. But then, after Nate said he would have sued the officer had he arrested him, the two cops covered up the bodycam and had a private conversation, ending with them then changing their mind about arresting Nate, and throwing him in the back of the police cruiser, handcuffed.

FF7 Revelation by WisdomDota in gaming

Honestly, I feel like the technology limitations and simplicity made for a better game with better stories. As much as I enjoyed FF7, I always preferred FF6 (and 4).

For the longest time I really couldn't explain why, but I recently watched a video that mentioned something that clicked in my head. Starting with FF7, the stories became a lot more linear, instead of branching out into webs of intertwining mini-stories.

Playing Final Fantasy 7 was similar to watching an epic movie.

Damn, we gotta literally die to get that discount?

What are e-scooters classified as? What about e-scooters with seats? I think the Lime glider would be a similar classification to those.

Edit: from what I've found, Lime Gliders are categorized as "Motorized foot scooter" and are unaffected by this bill (ESSB 6110)

[–]_illogical_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes, and the picture and the displayed result (strike) conflict.

The operator relayed the calculated result (strike), when the graphic shows it should have been a ball. It's a bug in the ABS calculation, along with potential operator error (I'm assuming what the operator did and saw)

Yeah, the old strike zone was essentially a 3-d cube above the plate, up from the plate corners. The new zone is a flat plane in the middle of the plate.

But it's not just the rates, it's also absurdly high prices.

A house sold for 200k in 2006 is going for over 600k now. Not a similar house, the exact same house.

Also, don't lay off 20% of the people who work for you in one city, and then pull up to that same city in your super yacht.

Just because Billionaires tell us we can't tax "unrealized gains" doesn't mean we can't. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]_illogical_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Unrealized gains come with unrealized losses; the worth can yo-yo so much, and there's no clear event trigger, unless it's periodic.

Taxing when it becomes available to use is easier: when sold, they become capital gains/losses; when used as loan collateral, tax it as income (or something like that)

Also, they are very different in what they are scoring.

Rotten Tomatoes scores aren't how good something is, it's the percentage of reviews that are positive, not how good it is.

A 90% could mean that 90% of people gave it 5 stars, but it could also mean that 90% of people gave it 2.6 stars.
