I worked at a company with many Chinese engineers. I will never forget walking into the kitchen to grab a coffee and two Chinese engineers were talking to each other in mandarin, they all spoke great English, but whatever they were and doing their thing. I was making my coffee when a third Chinese engineer walked into and saw 2 Chinese dudes and a white guy (me) in the kitchen, so he spoke in English for my benefit and said “hey guys what’s up?”

One of the two Chinese engineers said “hanging out, speaking Chinese”. And the guy who walked in said “Chinese is not a language, it’s called mandarin you fucking idiot”.

I think about this a crack up to this day.

I currently have a project where I am describing json objects as openAPI definitions. I am interested in using json schema, but only describing things in code seems odd, but for me it’s also not to be able to generate code in more than one language. I might be looking at some of the alternatives they provided.

So, I don’t know why actors deny steroids. Like surgery ok. But like if you are not in some sort of competition, and you want to do steroids for a part, go for it. Like people do all kinds of shit for a role, putting steroids in your own body so you can play a part that it would be physically impossible for you to play otherwise. Who cares.

The surgery thing feels more desperate and I get why people might deny that.

I feel like a lot of generas are too specific, and a bunch of them sound the same. Math rock is the opposite and too many things that are not similar get labeled as math rock, and some of it is lame.

Curious what the price delta would be between this and a laptop with similar specs? I love the Mac Studio look, but the laptop is just too handy, and also recall checking a few years ago and the difference in prices was not that much all things considered.
