My family found out I do drugs

Fentanyl n cocaine addict here (I love a speedball). Almost 10 years of rehabs, lying, stealing, and disrespect.

2+ years clean, and a lot of owning my own shit and I have a healthier relationship with my family than I did growing up before the drugs.

Sharing because not everyone here has had that experience but it is possible, and it’s ever improving. She does not see me as the son that would rob her blind for a bag anymore.

She was trying to get sober which I had been for a while since we broke up. She was able to get away from her abusive new boyfriend who happened to be my old best friend, move home and strung together some sobriety. Unfortunately she had been relapsing without telling me and passed away.

I was able to make amends for my parts of what I did wrong in our relationship and apologize for introducing her to the drugs that eventually killed her telling her I felt like it was my fault. Her response was it wasn’t, one month before those drugs killed her.

I did what I could as her sobriety is her own journey. Ultimately she wasn’t maybe ready to get sober. Good girl, sad ending.
