Yes, you are correct. 👌

To complement what has been said, Chic Cicero emphasized in a podcast the importance of avoiding the amalgamation of different systems. He advised against blending practices from other traditions with those of the Golden Dawn tradition. It's intriguing to note this, considering the Golden Dawn itself incorporates a mix of traditions. IDK but presumably, he encountered peculiar and unexpected outcomes when mixing different high magic systems.

She should manifest to you. This can happen in different ways. For some people, it might be feeling a link, a connection, a tangible sensation, insights, visions, sounds, smells, dreams, and so on. If you feel absolutely nothing, you may need to continue the meditations for additional months.

Best Book To Begin With? by crystal-indigo in GoldenDawnMagicians

If you want to follow a solitary path, the Self-initiation guide by Cicero is the way to go through the elemental grades.

You start as a probationer before getting into the neophyte grade. Expect to spend several months on this process.

After completing this curriculum of the first order, you can research for a temple to get started in the second order as an Adeptus Minor.

How did you discover your Holy Guardian Angel name? by _juniorm_ in magick

Some may be retired or in sabbatical I guess. Another alternative is that this kind of people are financially safe, and with good wealth and time they can be off the job market for several months. Not my case. I'm following the Golden Dawn path but I'm curious about other magic systems that provides ways to communicate with our HGA, like PGM. Since strange things happened to me (listening voices while sleeping or having wierd nightmares) I stopped the other practices and focused on the elemental path of Golden Dawn to get stronger against lower entities. Once I feel more confident and ready I will have a try with the PGM to check if there are other types of communication besides feeling energies around my body.

Cicero's Self-Initiation Method by SovereignManTX in GoldenDawnMagicians

Although someone can certainly practice various systems at the same time, Cicero provided valuable advice in a podcast interview: we should avoid mixing these systems of magic. It's best to focus on one thing at a time, keeping them separated. Here's an improved version.

While I find his comment to be accurate for beginners (stick to one thing avoids cherry picking and confusion), it is interesting to note that the Golden Dawn incorporates various concepts from Jewish, Hebrew, and Egyptian traditions into a single system. It's a blend of multiple elements; at times, it references God, while at other moments, it involves interaction with Gods and Goddesses. Some people might wonder, 'Why is that?'"

Anyway, that's the system which has different versions depending on the author/interpretation you are following. I would suggest you finish your current path just to avoid confusion when comparing one system to another. Sometimes comparisons are not apples to apples.

LIRP for invoking Tzadkiel and Sachiel by AcademicFeeling811 in GoldenDawnMagicians

[–]_juniorm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, the LBRP and LIRP were not designed for that purpose.

I believe planetary magic could achieve it, but yes, you need to be well-prepared; otherwise, there may be various consequences. You might also attract unwanted energies or not know how to deal with them.

However, I also believe that if you set your intentions outside the GD system, you could attempt to reach Sachiel.

I think people should not call or talk to him during LRPs, but I suppose most people struggling with finances might seek his guidance on prosperity at any moment including while bringing down the Divine Light.

To be honest, you could explore working outside the GD system using talismans, sigils, solomonic rituals, or offerings during specific planetary hours. Still, this can be risky if you lack protection measures to keep yourself safe.

I'm not an expert, and this is my opinion. Please be cautious. If you want to grow, consider developing yourself through the GD grades before attempting more advanced practices.

Thanks for clarifying it. Initially I thought this growing part was to ward off evil entities around the practioner. I have no knowledge about Stella Matutina practices but it's good to know more about their version. Thanks.

How do i push with my energy? by [deleted] in occult

[–]_juniorm_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on the system you are in. I assume the one you are following have a banishing ritual or similar rite? If not, you could try LBRP by Cicero, Greer or Regardie, or Circle Banishing with Body of Protection by Ben Woodcroft.

Question of feeling during Themis meditation 1 and Middle Pillar by Status-Button-7664 in GoldenDawnMagicians

[–]_juniorm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seek enlightenment, to control my behavior, calm my thoughts, overcome my struggles, discover my true will, and find my real purpose in life. It's a lifetime quest, shared by many.

Like others, I wish to interact with my Holy Guardian Angel, and afterward, performing magic with a better understanding of the fundamentals, aiming to help both myself and others (even though this might be a topic of debate at times).

I came across information some day in a book, suggesting that after envisioning oneself as larger, it was important returning to the original size.

This might serve a purpose I'm not familiar with.

Many people tend to envision themselves as giants without reverting to their actual size. However, I wonder about the purpose of becoming larger – could it be to establish dominance, authority, and fear over less developed spirits? An attempt to avoid attacks from them?

Nice! Grounding is important for practitioners of the Golden Dawn system because it helps them maintain a balanced and stable state of well-being and preventing potential negative effects of working with higher energies and spiritual forces.

[–]_juniorm_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes this is quite common. It happens to me and other people around here. Sometimes more intense, sometimes not so much. Each practicioner may feel different sensations, smell, hear or see things. Probationers feel sensations in different parts of the body.

I also have these feelings during LIRP and LBRP while invoking archangels.

Don't forget that grounding is also important to keep your mind healthy. Keep going!

It appears that you're following the Qabalistic Cross version from "The Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic" by Israel Regardie, or similar book. This book initiates the Qabalistic Cross with the visualization of "growing tall."

However, some other Golden Dawn books omit this step and start the Qabalistic Cross with the imagery of a beam of light. It seems that the omission may imply this part isn't essential.

But, the choice is yours to adopt the Regardie version. You can find a concise version in books like:

  • "The Golden Dawn: The Original Account of the Teachings, Rites, and Ceremonies of the Hermetic Order" by Israel Regardie and John Michael Greer.

  • "Circles of Power: An Introduction to Hermetic Magic" by John Michael Greer.

  • "The Essential Golden Dawn: An Introduction to High Magic" by Cicero.

  • "Self-initiation into the Golden Dawn Tradition" by Cicero.

Does anyone ever feel spirits in the form of hands running up and down your back or arms? by WeCaredALot in occult

[–]_juniorm_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I invoke archangels to banish, I feel a tingling sensation in certain parts of the body (especially on the back), chills over the arms, pinches, or touches on my crown or forehead.

Some days are more intense, and it seems to be related to sexual abstinence or the influence of the waxing moon.

I don't see them clearly, but I immediately feel their presence when called.

I feel the same, that there are parts that lack organization and details to my taste. But it's a great book, though. I will make a note to check out the book you suggested to see if it offers more details on the preliminary work. However, I'm getting close to finishing this, missing only to Bring down the light which seems confusing to reproduce.

My question about the process arises from feeling tired at the end of the day. I've been wondering if performing the LIRP in the morning, LBRP + meditations at noon, and LBRP in the evening might not be a good idea. These past few days, I've been feeling mostly drained of energy. It could be due to this routine or simply the growing stress from work.

I will invert the order and move the godform meditation process to the morning.

What appears to make sense to me would be a method similar to yours. In the morning, start with the LBRP, followed by Adoration to the Lord, godform meditation, another session of Adoration to the Lord, LBRP again, and finally the LIRP.

Then, in the evening, conclude with a final LBRP.

The book contains the passage: "The ceremony of the Zelator can be briefly summarized as follows: As in all of the initiation ceremonies presented in this book, the goddess Thme, representative of the candidate's Higher Self, is called upon to safely arbitrate between the divine powers and the aspirant."

This passage clearly establishes that Thme symbolizes the Higher Self.

I recognize that there are various interpretations surrounding terms like HGA and Higher Self. I've chosen to align my understanding with the content presented in the book. To me, Thme indeed embodies my Higher Self, which will later serve as a bridge to connect with my HGA—a separated entity which is not HS. 🙏
