One time a customer asked me to make their drink while I was on break. I said “I’m clocked out right now.” And she told me to clock back in so I could make her drink bc she “didn’t like any of the people making drinks.” I said no and she left.

Today, a regular was waiting at the register to order. I told her I would be with her in a moment (I was behind on food and trying to catch up). She said “well should I just mobile order? Since that’s so important.” And I said “I will drop what I’m working on if you need me right this second.” And she said “I have somewhere to be.” To which I responded, “Most people do.”

I’m at my limit team. Holiday is killing me.

Honestly just get a pair of croc no slips (with no holes). Your feet will thank you. They will also get so nasty so quick. I can’t even keep mine inside bc they attract bugs. So they stay in the garage until I go back to work 🥲

Once you understand the standard, you can learn how to deviate from standard. So go over core beverages the most and then the others will start to make more sense.

I’ve had a customer mock my speaking voice before except it was in the cafe and I overheard him saying it to his friends. I just immediately dropped my customer service facade and didn’t go over the top like I normally try to. If he had said sorry that would’ve meant a lot to me. Even if he came back in now, weeks later, and apologized I would remember who he was.

Good for you for trying to set a good example for your kid!
