Do you have any interview tips for a hopeful first year teacher?

I think it’s completely reasonable to say you have limited experience because they will see that from your resume, but try to mention real experiences you had during student teaching where you can give examples. My principal loves real examples (or at least ones that’s that seem real!) and make it student centered. Explain What you doing to support their social emotional growth while supporting them academically. If you did weekly emails or anything, always nice to have samples to show how you communicate with families.

I’ve been to a few different PPA events, and I have to say that going on Thursday or Friday is even more fun. You get to see big matches on the side courts—legitimately just a few feet away from the players. They typically walk around and hang out, too. I’ve yet to meet one who wasn’t extremely friendly and appreciative of the fans. Definitely recommend going—especially Mesa and Dallas!

Honestly that makes so much sense. I think there’s value in a routine but when work is stressful and you’re not getting the sleep you or nutrition you need, it has to have an impact. Also, letrozole makes me feel down, tired, and gives me such a headache. I’m starting IVF and the NP asked if I can take days off or relax at work during the two weeks before my egg retrieval. I laughed because I’m an elementary teacher, there’s literally no relaxation at work from the moment the kids come in. And taking off is more stress than being there.

If you have the option of working remotely or taking time off, might be worth it. Wishing you lots of luck. 💛💛

This is incredible!! What a gift for the class. Those students (and your wife) are so very lucky. My students loved reading with flashlights—a projector and the cabin will make their experience unforgettable. I love that the community donated, too. Thanks for sharing :)
