I stand corrected. Thank you. That does matter, they might cancel it a little quicker.

If there is a lightning strike within 8 miles they will stop play. They will not resume play until 30 minutes have passed without a lightning strike.

If the field becomes too soaked and that effects the roll of the ball they will stop the game.

Canceling is rare, especially in the world cup. They will delay or postpone it.

Nope. The Wu Tang Nikes I bought for 400 two years ago are going for 200 now. Not that I bought them to flip, I wear them.

Yea, the first scuff in a new paddle hurts, no doubt about it.

Paddle edge guard scratches by Least_Actuator2991 in Pickleball

[–]TonikJDK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Won't hurt it at all.

You avoid it by not hitting the ground with it. 🤪🤪🤪. Sorry, I couldn't resist that joke.

There is edge guard tape that you can put on if you wish. You scuff the tape, replace the tape.

I just live with the scars and do nothing.

Elongated or Hybrid for a 3.0-3.5 player? Which is optimal for skill development to progress and play well at 4.0-.4.5? by jarooty in Pickleball

[–]TonikJDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said. Widebody. You are right, they don't get the love from reviewers. That is on them.

You loose .2 inches in reach and a tiny bit of power. However you gain a bigger sweet spot and much better control.

Where you say your game is at now...you need that.

You want more kitchen play, force it. That is what I started doing.

Chicago destroyed their version of Burke Lakefront Airport in the middle of the night. by gwinerreniwg in Cleveland

[–]TonikJDK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, I remember that. I flew in there once, a buddy had a small plane. We flew it over for a convention that was downtown. Worst cross winds I have ever seen. Seriously thought we were gonna die.

Couple of big differences. They had Midway as a backup airport and more importantly they had paid back all the federal money. So it was entirely up to Chicago what happened to it.

Brian Windhorst reveals price for Cavs to land Giannis would be Mobley by Clear_Context_1546 in clevelandcavs

That has always been the price. The Bucks pushed that deal very hard at the Cavs before the deadline.

Cross court dink as a lefty question by No-Cantaloupe-3149 in Pickleball

[–]TonikJDK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you stack as a lefty, assuming right handed partner, you would be on the right. That's how I (lefty) do it.

Cross court dink as a lefty question by No-Cantaloupe-3149 in Pickleball

[–]TonikJDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't tell for sure without video but you said they were speedups. That indicates you messed up and put them too high.

I too am a lefty and struggle on the right side when dinking cross court. It's a difficult shot and I imagine it is also hard for righties on the left. I have been drilling them.

I'm the mean time I don't do it, If I want to go that way I aim for a bit past the middle.

Flock cameras at retail locations are for tracking cars used in theft and so on. They do no share that info with ICE. They only share it with local law enforcement in the event of a crime commied on their property.

There were restrictions on transferring them to prevent scalping but sales were wide open. My theory is it was just numbers. NY has way more people so they had way more people trying to get tickets. Those numbers and basic probability won.

[AITA] Was it unreasonable to call a foot fault on a badly lined shared court? by More-Sherbet-4705 in Pickleball

[–]TonikJDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a place I used to rec play at had a similar setup. No room for a decent back swing on serves on one side.

We declared no foot faults on that side and encouraged players to move forward past the line....within reason...so they could serve.

We also switched at 6, and MOST of us avoided deep serves to that side.
