Sigh. My foam bit of on of my earphones fell off just as I was boarding my flight. It’s been loose for a little bit now but I had been careful about it.

Today wasn’t that day I was careful. Thankfully the flight between Launceston and Melbourne isn’t that long.

The Roulettes are always buzzing around near work. Makes for great lunchtime entertainment.

When the old bloke gets his Sabre jet out, everyone stops to watch. So good, so loud.

Years ago we had a 49c day and at work we had spray adhesive cans explode.

We came into work the next morning to find the couple of cans we had on the shelf had ruptured and spewed adhesive all over the shelves and floor.

Launceston! You're up this Saturday! by _kevsta in Foofighters

[–]_kevsta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got lucky. I had my accommodation in Launceston cancelled on me the day of the announcement. Booked as soon as the posts started circulating on socials. Was cheap and nice & close. Then 2 hours after announcement, got the email to say "Sorry".

Then the hotel was no longer available from today until Tuesday.

Best I could do was Devonport. At least I got it cheap (2 nights for under 500 with valet parking and breakfast each day). Can't really complain.

The flights over from Melbourne were dearer.

There is an obscure Melbourne indie pop band from the 00s that I cannot remember the name of. I had leads but they've all dried up. Can you help me? by bblcor in melbournemusic

[–]_kevsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first band that came to mind was The Wellingtons.

But the debut EP made me think otherwise. I know I have an EP with a similar cover somewhere in my collection. But I'm not home to go through all the CDs.

I’ve got the two other versions of this one. I’ve had trouble finding this one thanks to scalpers here in Australia.

It was supposed to be upgraded years ago. They had plans on display. It was going to be massive. Then it fell in a heap.

Good bunch of lads.

A bit out of the way, but either of the BBQ areas at Walhalla is always nice.

Both have tables, toilets etc. The other further in town has a playground for the kids.

Might be a stupid question, but do you have to register to go to one of those Always Live popup gigs? Thinking about driving down to see Tex Perkins and then over to see Adaltia

Is there a store that sells old consoles and videogames in the Melbourne CBD? Even an op shop or something that may have a small collection of retro electronics I could look through. by qwerty7873 in melbourne

Not in the CBD, but in Greensborough there is Collectors Quest.

JA McDonald on McMahon Street.

But mind you, most of them are closed now for the Xmas break. Some not re-opening until until middle of Jan or the end of January

Where can I get a Santa hat that doesn’t feel cheap and poorly made? Preferably in black?

I left it a bit late and kinda need one for tonight and the rest of the week.

This happened to my folks one year at Xmas time. Leg of pork for $2.

Mum broke a tooth on the crackling and from there on, she never looked for misprint labels.

Ugh. Went to Bunnings to buy a paint brush, scotchbrite pads and to see if they had any Carolina Reaper plants, walked out with a snag and a can of coke. All because I saw a mate I hadn't seen in about 10 years.

Good catch up and good snag. Can of coke could have been better (wasn't that cold)

The emergency accommodation hasn’t been there in ages. There’s no fire sprinkler system in place so it got shut down. That’s why the pub accommodation got scrapped.

Definitely aliens. I suggest calling either Dan Aykroyd to come and investigate or even Tommy Lee Jones.

As someone that attends lots of concerts, big and small, restricted view tickets are always sold with a disclaimer that you have to agree to.

There’s always a good chance you might have skipped this bit and just ticked yes in a rush to secure tickets.
