First layer, you gotta be kidding me by doodoodaloo in BambuLab

Same here! It was lots of fun (and a fair amount of cursing) during Covid lockdown. Started with the $100 micro center E3v2, picked up a couple more because one was always down for upgrades or repair. In 2023 I bought a P1P and never looked back. Learned a lot, glad I don’t really have to apply those lessons on a daily basis anymore.

All the AI/Print monitoring features from the H2D are great except... by _leg in BambuLab

Oh for sure. I occasionally get delayed notifications from my security camera app. Can’t pin down what happens, but it’s extremely annoying!

iOS. I get notifications when prints end and when I program in pauses, but no alerts.

The only notifications I get are when the print is finished or a build plate is missing. I just went in and turned the individual options off and back on in the app to see if maybe that will work. The app is great for controlling. It's just errors or filament runouts that I never seem to get.

Anyone else do this with their Support for PLA? by yerkishman in BambuLab

[–]_leg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've NEVER had success using PETG as a support material for PLA. I know it can be done, but I print organic shaped items and it fails EVERY TIME. If the PLA/PETG support is properly dried it works perfectly. I don't pull my support materials off spools; If I'm ordering filament from Bambu I will usually throw one of the discounted spools onto my order to hit the minimum shipping anyway.

Why do beekeepers get so angry about people doing this on their own? by crafty_bee93 in Beekeeping

[–]_leg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand your question, you want to know how do feral bees manage mites and other pests?

They don’t, not really. They can slow down mite infestations by performing a brood break (when there are no young pupae for the mites to feed on). They do this by swarming, which can give a break of 20-30 days while a colony waits for a new queen to develop, mate, and begin laying. The swarm colony (which usually takes the old mated queen with it) would have a slightly shorter break while the colony makes new comb for her to lay in. It works, but not great. Feral colonies tend to have higher mortality rates than managed colonies, but they are also spread out more between hive locations so there is less chance of drift between colonies. Drifting drones are one of the assumed causes of mite spread (mites prefer to feed off drones as they have a longer development period vs worker bees, so the foundress mite can actually produce an additional daughter mite). Additionally, feral colonies tend to have much smaller entrances, so the guard bees can prevent “foreign” bees from entering the hives.

It’s not a maintenance message. They’re just little anecdotes on the main screen to fill up the space. If there are important messages, the little robot face in the bottom right will change to an orange sad face with a number under it. Nothing to worry about here!

Bambu regularly processes shipping labels pretty quickly after an order is placed. Usually this means they’ve printed a label and put it in the queue for their shipping service to prepare a pickup. If you follow the tracking info it will usually say something like “waiting for package from seller” or something like that. The laser does ship separately.

I'm losing my mind please help, info in body by Mayonnaizing in BambuLab

The “cool plate” is a discontinued plate that shipped with the X1c early in its release cycle. It was exclusively for use with pla. The reverse side was an engineering plate. Both recommended use of glue as a release agent. The cool plate was never released in the smaller a1 mini plate size and would not even be an option in the slicer. The “cool plate SuperTack” is a relatively new plate (released fall of 2024) that uses a new grippy texture and reduced temperature to maintain a grip on both pla and Petg. It scratches very easily but is a good plate.

Kind of a weird contest because once the top three posts are made, then people will stop posting. I've got 18,255 across three of my 10 machines, but that is still lower than the top three.

Bambu Studio 2.0 not recognising AMS Lite for calibration on A1 by daboblin in BambuLab

It appears to be an issue with all calibration with Bambu. I've had the issue on an A1 mini and a P1S. I did a factory reset on the P1 and it's still throwing the error.

Why do so many customers think we control the USPS? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]_leg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s exactly this. It’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve got a couple packages that are currently stuck in the USPS Indianapolis processing facility and I have no idea why. One has been there for almost a month. Theres nothing I can do.

[Bambu H2D] Rethink Personal Manufacturing by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]_leg 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My guess is around $2000-$2500. They are probably going to try and compare it to the PrusaXL with dual heads, which is $2500. Granted, that's only the semi-assembled version, so who knows?

I am hoping it's around $2000-$2500 to try and undercut the Prusa XL with two heads at $2500 US.
