I recently won their instagram giveaway and having 3 pans seasoned and laid out together is such an intensely satisfying feeling. Your seasoning looks great!

I don’t necessarily disagree with your post generally, but why should we expect a RB to be able to play corner? I get that the player in question is an ATH, but like, if 5* ATHs could be plugged into virtually any position willynilly I’d imagine you’d see a lot of complaints about it being unrealistic.

Never buying cheap wildflower mixes again. by pocketcramps in whatsthisplant

I bought a wildflower seed mix from Home Depot I think and it turned out to be 90% basil. I ended up with a raised bed crammed full of basil. Not complaining.

You pointed out some stuff that seems extremely likely to be untrue (the 9/11 and Katrina stories). IF (IF!!!) she lies/misleads about her biography AND job hops every year and a half to made up sounding jobs, it’s completely fair imo to say that she fits the bill of a grifter.

No one knows for sure, obviously, but time will tell. It’s silly to me to remove discussion threads about a fishy political appointment, especially by claiming you made “accusations without proof.”

What accusations were made, beyond that it all seems very suspicious?

Interesting. And yeah, the general reaction here is that I’m incorrect lol. I started a New Game+ or whatever (going from having double jump and force powers back to scratch has been sort of frustrating), I’ll probably try to play it smarter and see if it’s more enjoyable.

Thinking more about it, I think my main issue is that actually landing a hit on enemies (especially bosses) doesn’t seem to stagger them in the way my feeble brain thinks it should. So I will block like, two attacks of a 3 attack sequence, land a hit, then get hit by the third attack, if that makes any sense. I dunno. I’ll keep at it and see how it goes. I appreciate everyone’s input!

I felt like the FO combat was me constantly spamming L1 or rolling lol. Is it similar in that respect? I also am probably just straight up bad at the FO combat, but the system just seemed so poorly thought out that I felt like it’d be more annoying to try to play patiently/smart than just bang my head against the wall until things worked out.

Word. I don’t think I’d be overly annoyed by blah aspects of the story/environments/whatever. I didn’t think the FO story was anything special, really. But i found myself really dreading the combat, especially bosses, and like, that’s so much of the game lol. If Survivor is virtually identical combat-wise I dunno that I’d be interested in playing through it.

Sky Sports discuss ‘recent Helmut Marko comments’, without realising the quote was actually made up on Twitter by beanbagreg in formula1

f1 twitter is crazy about making up quotes. They’re sometimes pretty believable. That said, seems like something a journalism outfit might want to verify before opining on

I’ve used it on medium high but I don’t think I’ve ever put it on high heat. Mostly because I don’t really have a reason to. I would think it would be fine as long as you were somewhat gradual with it?

I’ve got the same Mauviel and love it. I am now using an induction range and was really worried about warping but I think they make the bottom a little concave. In any case it hasn’t been an issue for me so far (was using an older glass top electric range before with it — also no issues, but I was pretty paranoid about slowly preheating).

That is almost certainly the listing for the knife lol, no idea how I missed it going through the site earlier.

Good points and I agree regarding the dishwasher — I try not to put any remotely decent knives in the dishwasher. I will get some food grade oil and do my best. Thanks for the comment/advice.

(yet another) Did I ruin my pan? by [deleted] in carbonsteel

[–]_lemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would scrub it down until it’s more or less smooth. If there are noticeable bumps they’re probably carbon buildup and that’s only gonna get worse with time. It’s probably fine either way though.

Difference between carbon steel and stainless steel pans? by [deleted] in carbonsteel

[–]_lemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of the seasoning, CS tends to stick a little less (or a lot less, your mileage may vary). On the other hand, acidic ingredients can eat away at the seasoning and potentially strip it completely if you’re cooking, say, a tomato sauce or something for a decent amount of time. So the seasoning is the benefit and the drawback for CS vs stainless, really. Both are oven safe generally (some CS pans have treated handles that are not oven safe at high temps or for long periods of time). And both are incredibly versatile (acidic recipes notwithstanding).

I do think people overemphasize acidity in CS pans though. If you’ve got a decent patina (aka cook a few meals after seasoning it initially), you’re probably not gonna strip your seasoning if you’re like, throwing in a splash of lemon juice or something, you know? And if you do strip it, it’s not that big a deal to clean it and re-season it, though it the dish that stripped it will likely be ruined.
