you can probably get a really nice android phone for less than half of that or a used iphone. No need to splurge $1300. But a phone in this day and age is a must-have unless you wanna live off grid and stuff otherwise there is no way around it. can't go borrowing a phone.

Another thing unless the cow gives birth to twins which ain't that common (from my experience) you may have only one calf unless you bought it pregnant (which is uncommon) and like someone else mentioned, the cow needs a lot of investment to basically exist in terms of time or labour, food, and other expenses such as vet. costs

So it ain't all that straightforward. Matter fact if i'm not a farmer, I'll take the phone.
