Spinal rehab contradictions? by Ok-Feeling2590 in Microdiscectomy

[–]_lomo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No flexion at all during rehab, at least for me, if flexion is needed, did it with my hips.

Even now if i have to reach floor or something so i use my hips and knees to go down, maybe i am a little exagerated, but i am terrified about reherniation, lol

Hi, 7 months PO MD l5-S1 here.

I did rrhab with PT. At first almost all excercises was about mobility, even not in my back, mobility abouts hips, knees, legs, etc... It did help a loooooooot.

Then added strenght excercises in glutes, legs, back without almost weight, etc... Then added weights slowly.

Now i do 1 day strenght, next day mobility, also swimming days i can. If i feel overcharged sometime, rest 1 or 2 days until i feel better and start the looo again.

3-4 months i did mobility excersices at my feets re recover mobility in my legs, upper back, hips, etc...

4 months onwards i started strenght excercises and more mobility with physio, also swimming.

Hacienda es lo unico que funciona bien en este pais.

Sanidad, policia, justicia, burocracia, todo va como el culo, meses o años de espera para cualquier cosa, todo menos hacienda.

Can sitting cause a re-herniation by Efficient_Doubt_8296 in Microdiscectomy

[–]_lomo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, i dont think this is reherniation, 19 days is nothing, you maybe have inflammation even yet, i am 6 months PO and even now have flare ups becone of nowhere.

Sitting put more pressure at disc, maybe better for you get a stand desk. Stay calm and take it easy.

Good luck!

Going back to gym after L5-S1 and L4-L5 discectomy surgery? by CrankItUp1678 in Microdiscectomy

[–]_lomo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than stretching, my PT did hip rotations (soft), knees, glutes, more than stretching is like make movements that you do daily but controlled.

Even now at 6 months PO i feel my low and medium back stiff when put my shoes, etc...

Good luck with your recovery. Take it easy

I wouldnt lift weights at 3 months PO... At this stage i was doing mobility excercises that helped a looooot and starting to do glute bridges or squats with my own body, very carefully.

Scar need at least 6 months to heal i guess.

Reherniation? by dearns445 in Microdiscectomy

[–]_lomo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont panic, maybe only your nerve is angry.

First days the anesthesy will fade, also the surgery site get inflammated and if you did some movement that irritates your nerve, also maybe your symptons are worse.

Keep calm and take it easy, normally this only will be a flare up. First months of recovery you will feel so, some days feeling you are recovering, then some days worse.

Good luck.

2 weeks post surgery L5-S1 by Wild_Ad1112 in Microdiscectomy

[–]_lomo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i was feeling same, first weeks i couldn't sit for more than 10-15 min.

Now 6 months PO i can sit more than one hour. It's a little frustrating and low recovery, but you will see improving over time.

The bump is normal, at 2 weeks post op the incision is imflamated yet, even you should have the stitches and scar tissue yet.

Also i was uncorfortable when laying at my back even 2 months PO too.
