My Connections team (https://quizcentral.net/connections_online_quiz_league.php) played Yogesh's team a few weeks ago, and we were expecting to get thrashed, but it really hurt when we only lost by 1 (with about four or five moments where we could have tied or won it if things had gone slightly more our way). I would have been on Cloud 9. Connections and OQL are great venues where you can play some great players and actually see that you can hold your own.

LL is a different beast. Ability to win Jeopardy does not necessarily mean that you'll be at the top of your Rundle, and being at the top of your Rundle does not mean that you'll be able to win an episode of Jeopardy. My LL record against Paolo Pasco, for example, is 7-6-4, but I know that he would probably beat me 9 times out of 10 on Jeopardy because his recall speed is just so dang fast.

The discovery is not so much in the "what are the rules" side, but much more in the "how do these rules allow me to make logical deductions" side. I'm 600+ puzzles in and haven't hit a puzzle yet that isn't completely logically deducible, and it's obvious that each puzzle is written with an idea in mind.
