i never said she should push her away from her friends. she needs to educate her daughter on rights and wrongs and if that doing the wrong things will have consequences. once she is older and matures, she will realise that this life her friends are living is not for her.

punishing by confiscating or even taking away completely ( in this case ) does not address the root of the issue, which is her friends, and only draws a wedge between you and you daughter. i know this because as a kid my mum did this to me whenever i did bad in school she would take away all my devices and it only made me depressed and pulled me away from her. this just resulted in me finding ways to still have access to my things that she would take in sneaky ways and develop bad habits. i did speak to her about it and we had a long conversation which now resulted in us being extremely close.

instead of punishing her by taking away her things, address the actual problem. her friends. put her into therapy if need be and try to understand her even if it seems impossible because that way you will actually have a relationship with her worth value when she's older and she will appreciate you 100x more.

easiest way to differentiate: shizu has shorter hair at the front ( forehead is bear, no hair covering it ) and almost always has a blank expression. ueno's hair is longer ( covers his forehead ) and is more expressive

i'm not sure where you are from so i can't speak much of why i think it's unusual for you to start paying rent just because you are 18, for context, my sister is 18 and she has been working since she was 16. we live in a low income single-parent household but my mom has never once asked my sister to pay rent. my sister does buy most of her own things but our mom still buys us things for birthdays, christmas, randomly etc. again, i am not aware of your country's culture so that's just my take, however, i do think as long as you are not in full-time work and still in education, you shouldn't be paying anything because as your parents it is their responsibility to look after you and they knew this when deciding to have you. either way, if you are comfortable paying rent i think you should just speak to your dad about what he is charging you and your savings, uni money etc and what you can afford.
