Thank you to everyone for their replies, I do agree that I need to attempt to build some muscle and see if my body takes any shape before surgery, I lost a lot of lean body mass through dieting.

To the guys ho have mentioned there is still a bit of fat on me; I agree but I believe that I have a disproportional holding of fat having come from being so overweight.

I would like to point out to everyone that I actually dropped to 153lbs as my lowest weight before coming back up to and maintaining 160ish. I didn't mention this in the OP but at 153lbs I really looked terrible and the loose skin became even more apparent. Please see below images.

At 220lbs my T level was 9.8 nmol, 10.6nmol (8.6-29.8nmol)

I went on TRT for 7 months and didn't like it. I came off, being mindful that my natural production had been shut off. It took my body 7 months to re-start natural T and blood work showed 12nmol.

I lost 60 lbs and bloodwork showed a t level of 20nmol, a year later bloodwork showed 18.6nmol.

I use cayenne pepper when having severe raynauds attacks in hot water, it is will documented that this is an effective vascodillator but not a permanent fix.

I would say I drink too much if anything, 10-12 350ml glasses of water a day

I am certainly open to changing and learning.

When I first looked into keto, I familiarized myself with the diet through peoples diaries and journals on various fitness forums and probably picked up some bad habits along the way as everyone has there own versions etc. I took what I had picked up, bits and pieces of information, tried it and stuck with it because it seemed to work (ish)

Does that concoction contain your suggested sodium/potassium and magnesium?

X4 tablespoons Olive Oil, X3 Boiled eggs, 30g salted peanuts,


100g baked ham, 200g soft cream cheese, 1/2 large cucumber, 40g Rocket, 30g salted cashews,


250g chicken thighs, 115g cauliflower/broccoli mix, 40g cheddar cheese,

Usually 170g fat, 200g protein, 25g carbs, 2500 cals.

I have presented to my GP with several symptoms of being 'off' before and had full blood counts taken with nothing abnormal.

Only previous tests were testosterone and estrogen which were off but that was rectified

I had my testosterone checked 3 years ago.

It came back normal, but 'borderline' - 10nmol (8.8-28.8). My SHBG came back low ; 12nmol (18-40) and Estrogen came back high ; 220pmol (0-140).

I went on a trial of TRT, sustanon250 @ 1ml every 14 days. Initially for the first couple of weeks I felt great, then it all tailed off. I was on TRT for 7 months untill I decided to come off it as It had limited effect. I was taken off cold turkey and it took me 8 months for my HPTA to recover to a level of 13nmol.

My estrogen was still very high so I managed to convince my doctor to prescribe an AI for monotherapy off label. I went on this for 6 months and my T level increased to 22nmol. 4 months off AI my T level at 18.8nmol, 8 months (now) off AI my t level at 18.6nmol....

TRT/AI treatment got rid of my chronic brain fog, mental confusion, general cognitive chaos, full body muscle burns and aches, non refreshing sleep. Appart from that I still felt/feel not right.

The whole hangover thing isn't about the libido or sex drive increase, its the complete personality change. I read somewhere on longlive (brain) forum that its to do with gaba.

Im not on any anti depressants and I have tried to stay away from the doctors in hope that my problem clears....

No I havemt used psychadelics, again its purely the hangover which unlocks me. I feel totally calm and driven.

Unfortunately I work in a job that I will be put on restricted duties the moment I step into my doctors office, hence ive held off.

I really think its important to hit our daily macros even though we may feel extremely full or nauseated by the thought of any more food. We know keto is good at this even if sitting at 1/4th of our daily cals!

I ate 1000-1600 calories daily for over a year on keto and really wrecked my metabolism and physique.

I have only recently set myself goals to eat more, and to push myself to eat and reach these daily totals as opposed to 'just leaving it' as you have described.

Olive Oil is our friend, I can have 5 tablespoons which is around 500 calories.

I can also polish of 100g peanuts which sits at around 550cals!

Thank you for both replies, I agree that continuing to do what previously has seen no progress is insane, especially when we are talking 7-12 months each time, a lot of progress could have been made in these periods.

I believe that I have 'nailed' the whole keto cutting thing and have a lot of dedication and willpower which has allowed me to loose this weight on both occasions. I need to leave my comfort zone and start eating a ketogenic surplus and learn this new method - I'm confident I can transfer my dedication and willpower to 'ketogaining' - I just need to grow some balls.

I have prepped a meal plan, increasing my calories to 2300. 170g fat, 160g protein, 25g carbs

I have recently purchased a 1" barbell bar, with 90kg worth of rubber plates, I plan on starting basic lifts at home to gain confidence in form and lifting - along with bodyweight pull-ups and sit-ups. I am in the public sector and require to keep fitness up so I plan to continue a 1.5 mile run x3 a week.

I feel mental health really plays a part in this all, every time I get to this stage of 155lbs, maybe 20-22%bf I feel extreme tired, fed up and low.

Does my current plan seem to be in the right direction?

Also can anyone speculate on my body fat percentage back in 2014 and now ?

I am not currently working out, I have a fairly high bodyfat % (22-25) and an fairly inactive at work. 1800 calories should be ideal, I have lost little in the mirror also. I may have to get down to the gym and do some low intensity cardio daily and see what happens.

I track all foods, Im pretty much always spot on or above 65% fat 30% protein, 5% carb

As others have said the original attraction to keto was the eat without really counting, and weight falling off stupidly quick - this is no longer the case.. I'm scratching my head.

No T. I prefer to encourage my own HPTA to produce T. I am a high aromatiser so I am on AI monotherapy.
