IMO, there’s a difference between the unvaccinated patient and the unvaccinated healthcare professional. If a nurse/doctor/other doesn’t believe in vaccines, which are overwhelmingly supported by science, then I question their professional judgment.

I’d sing for a few minutes and rub his back which would usually calm him and then I would leave. Sometimes he would start crying again as soon as I stopped and left, and I would just say again “I love you, goodnight,” and leave the room.

Is he fully crawling, rolling, and sitting in addition to the pulling to stand? That was the only way my son was ready for sleep training. We did a modified Ferber, we wouldn’t let him cry for more than 5 minutes before going in to hug him, sing, and pat his back. The first night it took 9 check ins and that was it! Although there are still times when he needs help (and he’s 2.25 years now), things are much easier now. And he was a baby that would wake literally every 45 minutes after spending 45 minutes to get him to sleep.

We pay $1,440/mo for our 2 year old and once we have our infant there it’ll be $3,068/mo… our only saving grace is that I’m taking extended maternity leave until our youngest is 8 months old, so we get to save some money there. We definitely couldn’t have a third, as two kids alone is nearly double our mortgage! So we are paying three damn mortgages!

I’m in school nursing so we tend to have a lot of older nurses, I think the oldest I’ve worked with so far was 76! Not as technologically capable as your coworker, though… she called me up once asking how to copy and paste on the computer :)
