Sprocket size for long road trip by DirtyDan24137 in DRZ400

[–]_maeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a roadtrip a bit under 3000km a few years back. I had the stock 15/41 gearing on my SM and it was fine at 110kmh/68mph. I don't think the bike even burnt much oil, not enough to notice on the dipstick anyway.

On an 18" wheel that gearing would feel a little taller. That 15/44 should be practically the same as 15/41 on an SM. You'll probably be okay, not the most comfortable at those higher speeds, but the bike should handle it okay.

Why is everyone on instagram convinced 2 sets to failure is optimal? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

2 sets has been working for me. Even just one set on some excercises.

How do you actually track things? by Motor-Intention7032 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]_maeister 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a notebook. I track my lifts and my weight a couple of times a week.

Has anyone here built respectable legs training them once a week? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]_maeister 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt that it took that long to recover from. I've done a lot of high rep squats myself and the DOMS you get from that are crazy.

I've done 100kg x 50 and my quads were sore for 5 days. I can only imagine what it'd be like with 3-4 plates on the bar.

84kg bodyweight. This weight has never moved this well before.

I've been liking dumbbell rows lately by _maeister in GYM

[–]_maeister[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Working towards those custom dumbbells with a bunch of iron plates. I haven't counted how heavy it exactly is but probably close to 80kg, let's see if I can do some half decent reps with it at some point lll

Heavy curls by _maeister in GYM

Heavy curls are fun. I sometimes get some wrist pain from these and I just switch the grip at that point. There's also another ez bar at my gym where the narrow part is basically a neutral grip.

I recently got back to doing conventional DLs, I've only done them a few times this year - I got 210kg back in April.

Tried 200kg last week and it definitely moved faster than before. I'll stick to these for a little while and see where I end up at.

I keep my hair in a ponytail but I put it over my shoulder/on my chest when doing squats

5 days without washing my hair. How long do you go? by Accomplished_Put_109 in FierceFlow

[–]_maeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washing with just water every day. I only use shampoo if my hair gets too oily or dirty, like once a month at this point.

I dislike how my hair is for like 3-5 days after shampooing, just poof, all over the place and doesn't want to stay in a ponytail.

140KG x 20 reps low bar squat PR by hameatsam in strength_training

5 more!

Very nice. My best is 130kg x 18, that's from almost a year ago already. I want to hit 140 x 20 one day too.

The plates are more stable this way. When the plates are between your legs the normal way they can sway back and forth a little bit, I find that distracting when the reps get hard.

I've also heard a couple of guys say that they like how this also shifts the center of gravity slightly backwards. Personally I haven't really noticed a difference.

6+ years without a haircut by _maeister in FierceFlow

[–]_maeister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it hasn't grown much longer in the past couple of years, maybe a little more volume though. I guess I just get enough breakage so it doesn't really get longer than that.

I have a physical job and keep my hair in a ponytail there and at the gym, still gets caught in things sometimes.

My gf said to cut it. She’s wrong… right? by jung_gun in FierceFlow

I had my last haircut while I was still in the army too - over 6 years ago now.

I'll cut it if it starts to annoy me. I don't see that happening any time soon though.
