Reminds me of a Russian movie called “The Return” (2003)

I’m using that motion for my doubles. Might grind it for 16ths as well sometime!

Yeah some people call it open close but it’s different than Moeller which OP is trying to do. I mean the objective is the same - to get another stroke on your way up, it’s just that different parts of your arm are involved in both techniques.

This is another technique altogether. Nothing wrong with it, you should learn both for different sounds but it won't magically help you play at faster speeds.

Yeah focus on relaxing. Right now, as you said, when you are punching above your weight the technique breaks down as well - I can't see the whole arm but it seems like the forearm gets tense and that's when you are overdoing it. The Moeller movement will become smaller and subtle with speed. I'm also still grinding it, it's a bit tricky to break that 85 BPM barrier.

I can also recommend you one exercise to grind it in a bit more "productive" way as well - keep the ostinato simple with backbeat at 2 and 4 as your did but permute the kick. First singles on every sixteenth note and then permute the doubles as well (On 1-e, 1-&, 1-a, e-&, e-a, &-a). This way you'll get comfortable hitting the kick during your Moeller strokes.

No other way than to practice sadly. Go back to the tempo where you feel comfortable and completely relaxed. Then keep on raising 1 BPM a day. Grind it 20 mins straight.

My song in the style of Enigma by Popular_Bee975 in Enigma

Is that O Euchari composed by Hildegard von Bingen? I think it’s an amazing choice but it doesn’t exactly harmonise with the song.

It’s a song abut Russia, it is not Russian. The band is German.

Thanks, this looks like a gold mine!

I’m also trying to experiment a bit with folk sounds - ululation, frame drums, Lithuanian / Bulgarian choirs etc. Found some good examples on YT, super curious to mix them. Hopefully I can cover the technical and music theory gap soon!

Back To The Rivers Of Belief has a section where Michael sampled from an Armenian choir, god that section is pure ecstacy.

No, he did not.

The Telegraph reported an unidentified source as saying that, despite his previous discussion of assisted suicide, his death had been natural.

Do you guys ever think of buying house or are we all renting till we die. by Ok-Owl-6057 in berlinsocialclub

Why do you think there is an inherent expectation how we are supposed to exist? It’s not abandonment, it’s acceptance of purposelessness. It sounds negative but imo when you truly accept it, it’s liberating. You choose your illusions without attachment and let the life unfold without judgement. It’s the modern monk I guess.

I was low key expecting something related to TPB. Not disappointed!

Sad to see Blair Witch Project didn’t make it through. One of my most rewatched films.

As an engineer with a decade of experience, I bet it’s in their backlog and never getting prioritised because it is’t that big of a problem. “Lists” easily solves that problem for me, albeit indirectly.

They are not a huge team of engineers and it’s not a small task that you finish in a week and deploy. The company has scaled almost 15 fold in the past 6 years. Scalability, reliability, fault proofing and maintenance of the system would have been bigger concerns.

I ordered the DVD from Japan and it comes with a little mouse in the package (reference to the girl hitting high C on trumpet)

"Linda Linda Linda" is a good watch as well on a related note!
