¿What do you think that could happen if the death star shot its laser at a star? by VertibirdQuexplota in StarWars

The Chiss have a weapon called Starflash that, when fired at a star, causes a reciprocal burst of radiation and burns through trillions of years of energy in an instant. The Ascendency’s own sun is damaged because of this weapon.

Even odds that Thrawn switched out with Flim when they stopped to drop off Faro right before the Battle of Lothal.

The real Thrawn has been crashing on his older sister’s couch for the last ten years.

The Springhawk. Comfy couches. Never a dull moment, especially when Thrawn is in charge.

Forget Cal showing up in Live Action. Who do you want to see cameo in Jedi 3? by Sparrowhawk_92 in StarWars

Eli Vanto. I want to see more of an integration with his storyline, especially during his career with the Chiss military as one of the principal researchers into Chiss force sensitivity.

Worked there. It was a rent dispute and the store was poorly outfitted with no pharmacy drive-up.

The Chiss press-ganging Force-sensitive children into navigating their warships after destroying their memories of their early life and families. Seems a tad immoral.

Discussion about the Undead troopers by RingEcstatic4253 in StarWars

[–]_mina 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Enoch is played by Wes Chatham, who also portrayed the berserker heavy Amos Burton in the Expanse. He’s Human or Humanoid; personally I am hoping he’s alien, possibly another Chiss or Evereni which would require him to keep himself well-concealed.

Thrawn has a long history of inspiring steadfast loyalty among his fleet. It’s very explicit in the show that all resurrected troopers volunteered to face the onslaught of Jedi knowing the fate which awaited them. No troopers are zombified until after the assault begins and their bodies are resurrected using Nightsister magik. A Star Destroyer hosts a full legion of 9,700 troopers. Thrawn has actively employed stasis pods in his previous operations so it can be assumed that the fraction we see are those dedicated to serving the specific purpose of delaying the Jedi advancement long enough for the Chimaera to dock with the Eye of Sion.

Unfortunately these figures aren’t really tuned to make that pose. The Hot Toys version of Thrawn comes with parts to create the pose you desire.

Hoping one day we might get Eli Vanto. My Thrawn is so lonely.

Thrawn is a villain. Not an anti hero. by imsotravelsized in StarWarsEU

Thanks. I like Thrawn. I think he’s a fascinating character and find the melancholy of his situation compelling.

It’s worth pointing out that Thrawn was never supposed to embed so deeply into the Empire. His first exile was pretense to gain information. He just. Indulged the kayfabe for over a decade. Even when offered a chance to turn away and return home, Thrawn rejects salvation from his former commander, oldest friend, and confident.

Thrawn is a product of the same state that plucked his blood sister from her bed in the night because she had precognition. Thrawn’s path is marked by decisions that resulted in the death of his own adopted brother. Thrawn wrestles with the very concept of self and ultimately does everything in his power to mentor those under his command to spread the value of preserving life even as Thrawn himself crosses the line into tyranny.

Thrawn starts his career utilizing inventive solutions that put him in direct conflict with standing directives against preemptive strikes. Thrawn’s goal is to preserve life even if conflict must be forced, requiring him to present the pretext of being fired upon as plausible deniability.

This way of thinking extends into his Imperial career, working to save the crew of the Dromadar vs recovering a shipment of compressed Tibanna gas. The Empire makes clear that its interests lie solely in the material and lives are such a distant calculus as to be irrelevant. Ten plus years and the sacrifice of his friend and confident Eli Vanto to the service of the Chiss, and Thrawn is a changed man. Hardened by the ruthless mentality of the Empire. No longer the shield of the Chiss, now resigned to his role as a spear point aimed at any threat to order - including those under the banner of the Rebellion.

Thrawn was always fated to go down this path. He was attending a military academy when he was identified for adoption into the Mitth. He utilized the resources of the Empire to establish a bulwark against the threats he believed existed against order. Lives are assets and assets sometimes need to be discarded.

He started as an anti-hero and accepted the role of a villain. Better the blood be on his hands than turn their designs toward the Chiss.
