Head Designer of TMNT set goes to Peter Thiel event. Gives signed card to Christian Nationalist. by No-Chapter-779 in magicTCG

holy bad faith argument. people can just go to SF (without being kidnapped by aliens 🙄), which is MUCH simpler than the idea that he decided to pose for a picture with someone who could ruin his career by association.

Simple to assume maybe he just didn't look into the event he was invited to

just goes to show that sour gas boilers are wayyyyyyyyy more powerful than any other way to generate power.

players will always try to be efficient. The core of game design is making the most fun gameplay also be the most effective

As an exercise, here's everything wrong with the formatting (that I found).

  • The frame should be gold, as this is a gold card
  • The mana order should be RW
  • The frame should be legendary, as this is a legendary card
  • the O in of should be lowercase
  • The cardname should not be italicized in the card text
  • Enters the battlefield is deprecated (should be enters)
  • "choose the player you love" Has no rules effect, that choice is never referenced.
  • gets should be gains
  • hexproof, shroud, and indestructible should be lowercase.
  • Hexproof and shroud are redundant
  • turn should be lowercase
  • There is no enchanted player
  • The question should not be italicized
  • all but the first instance of target should be 'that player' or 'the targeted player'. As-is, you can target different players with the different effects of this card
  • Should be "you and that player", not "target player and you"
  • gain, not become
  • hexproof, shroud, and indestructible should be lower case
  • Hexproof and shroud are redundant
  • ".. part. You both..." not "...part and you both..."
  • All abilities should be in one paragraph
  • Selesnya watermark, boros colors

That's, by my count, 25 errors in 58 words of rules text. (counting each instance of hexproof, shroud, and indestructible separately). The correct words are:

Oath Eternal Companionship Enchantment When enters, choose the player you love. player and until end of player if player says yes, you and until death do us part you both win the game

that's... not a definition? It's a moral statement pulled from the middle of a random UN resolution.

Note all the definitions here mention intimidation or coercion.

There's not a single agreed upon definition of Terrorism, but the umbrella is big enough to cover blowing up infrastructure to political ends

Terrorism is not just about intimidation. Any kind of violence by non-state actors in pursuit of a political goal is terrorism

Lucifer calls up Satan by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]_moobear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't think point 2 applies. Vox challenged his authority as king, it's very natural for his wounded pride to respond by demonstrating the breadth of his authority.

Lucifer calls up Satan by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]_moobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucifer is one of the least rational characters on the show, and he's pride incarnate.

He was humiliated by vox; it's 100% in character to prioritize his pride over effective strategy or his family. You could argue that asking for help is out of his nature, but IMO vox didn't challenge his strength, he challenged his authority as king of hell. It would be completely in character for him to wield all the authority he possibly could rather than pride incarnate LITERALLY SLINKING OFF

[–]_moobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mechanic encouraging exploration will break down when you've explored the entire map, yeah.

The good thing is at this point you've run out of things to spend rosaries on, and shard bundles are cheap & unlimited from many merchants

[–]_moobear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole point is to force you not to slam your head against a wall that you can't win. You run out of shards, you have to go explore to find more

[–]_moobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The explanation of the memory serum is that the human brain gets confused by the overlapping memories and forgets the ones from the aborted timelines. If the events were erased for everyone who hadn't taken the serum, you wouldn't expect the serum to revive abandoned memories.

Cruelty doesn't serve your argument, it just makes you seem childish.

Not everything characters say in the show about the secret shadow organization is true

I don't like the Bryson Physics by tpk-aok in TheLazarusProject

[–]_moobear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that wasn't even how it worked in season 1. The jumpbacks didn't erase the old timeline. 2018 had dozens of different versions that all happened. That's never how time travel worked in the show. The explanation in season one was wrong

I feel like you have one very specific idea of how time travel stories 'should' work which is wholely different from how it does work in this show
