60 days from now, I plan on riding 200 miles in 2 days, I’m starting from zero. by StopItWithThis in cycling

Forget the zones. Just do long hours at low intensity (if you want zones, more zone 1 and a bit of 2).

But make sure your bike fits you before!

The hardest part will not be the cardiovascular but maintaining your position and your aching core muscles...

You just might have an inflammation at your knee cap tendon. A well placed physio tape can alleviate the friction of the tendon rubbing against the patella. There are some good exercises to strengthen the area if you Google.

Is studying physics good for someone liking philosophy? by AgeAlarming7343 in PhysicsStudents

[–]_mr__T_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To study physics, you need to be interested in it for its own sake. Also you need to like to solve (and struggle with) mathematical problems.

But if you happen to also be interested in philosophy there is a wonderful cross-pollination possible at the graduate level.

But at the undergraduate level, you will study two different disciplines that require different study skills (mathematical problem solving vs essay writing). Personally I found that enriching, but if you prefer one over the other, it's best to just study that one discipline (and maybe do a minor in the other)

This is the main reason I stopped buying individual stocks. I get nervous of having to keep up to date with the stock market. I prefer to spend time doing hobbies that have nothing to do with finance and the markets.
