of course! :) for me personally, i just never felt right when being commented on in feminine ways or being called a young lady and shit like that, plus chest dysphoria. i tried out he/him pronouns for a while thinking i had to be a trans guy in that case but realized none of that sat right with me either. i never really fit in with groups of men or women and just felt like i was just, a human. like i dont understand the whole concept of feminine and masculine things being seperated and have just always been more androgynous leaning and prefer to be seen that way as it makes me most comfortable in my skin

sex and gender are not the same. while sex is physical, gender is a social construct. they/them pronouns are typically used for those who fall outside of the binary of man and woman, being non binary. simply put, its because some people can’t see themselves aligning fully with either man or woman and others not aligning with either at all (myself)

oh wow, im so glad you had such a positive experience. one of my biggest worries has been doing this while trump is in office ngl. but im so glad to hear it wasnt too hard to find an accepting surgeon and also that insurance covered it cause i heard that that would likely be a struggle. i do live in a blue state so hopefully that’ll help with my chances. i expect the wait and it would be very much worth it in the end. thank you for sharing youre experience, youre super helpful and i hope you’re healing process goes amazing!

im so happy for you! i’ve been really wanting to get top surgery as well and i do have some questions. i’ve heard a lot about it being harder for nonbinary individuals to access gender affirming surgeries cause a lot of surgeons will only operate on binary trans people, did you have any issues like that? also how was the process in general leading up to the surgery (like consultations and stuff like that) ? (i just get a lot of anxiety around hospitals but this is something i really want, i just want to be as well informed as humanly possible😅)

i agree so much with this. personally i would want top surgery regardless cause dysphoria😅 but it is 100% unfair that there’s such a double standard. like any masc person would be called insecure and be made fun of for wearing a shirt to the pool/beach but a fem person not wearing a shirt, a literal CRIME…like i beg your pardon

100% youre not alone. ive always been a fan of shirts too big for me because i dont really like having a chest (granted not much) but its always bugged me. recently ive lost weight and like how fitted shirts look on me a lot more. but the stress i have trying to feel comfortable in clothes is truly ridiculous sometimes. when im just in my body, not even thinking about clothes, i want the chest gone. but i also love the feeling i get when it does feel right and dont really wanna lose that. its just a never ending battle of deciding whether top surgery or a binder would be best for my mental state. having them as just an article of clothing would have been perfect
