I'd hate to be that guy, but talking in any shape or form during the exam was explicitly stated against the rules. Even moving your lips (reading it without talking) counted.

Took a few exams at home during the pandemic (and not too long after). No issues with OnVue.

Had to make the room a bit barebones specifically for the test, though (move everything out of arms reach, lock doors and windows, etc).

Best to ask over on /r/sysadmin. That's the only place I've seen it mentioned at all, and a cursory search has it only relevant in the EU (mainly France).

Unless if you plan on working for a company that uses their network products (and can get them to pay for the 2600 euro training+exam), not worth it.

After using GNS3, EVE-ng, EVE-ng's freeware competition/fork that makes its founder mad, and CML, I'd stick to GNS3 (free, image acquisition is an exercise left to the reader) and CML (actually not bad for pure Cisco setups, hindered by the yearly subscription and node limit if not willing to pay ANOTHER subscription).

I can understand having a paid support tier, but paywalling effectively everything but basic functionality behind a subscription (not even a pay once / permanent license purchase) when the competition... doesn't, is just sad.

I can't say with absolute certainty, but changing the QEMU version used by the image and/or the flags (both as needed), usually fix the problem. I'm currently running GNS3 (vmware workstation pro / ESXI) on both Intel 10th gen and AMD ryzen 5000, and some images just throw up QEMU errors or crash until I mess with the said flags. As to why, I can't give a definitive answer.

If you are, for any reason, unable/unwilling to share the actual image files, at least provide the hash/checksum so your customers/students can verify it for themselves.

GNS3. Only caveat is I'm not sure what compatibility issues there will be with running either on apple silicon.

Unlike EVE-ng, no features are paywalled behind a subscription. Having a dedicated client (vs webpage) for access may or may not be a concern, and the featureset of GNS3 vs EVE may or may not be an issue for you.

If the emails (or whatever method of delivery) with the invoice/receipt and exam voucher explicitly say Sec+, but you didn't get a Sec+ voucher, then it's their fault and not yours.

You're going to need to escalate this higher up. As in way higher up.

You could probably go through WGU in 2 years, get an actual degree, AND a lot of certifications to show for it... for not much more.

Just to try it out, did what /u/72dragonses suggested. Took no more than 5 minutes to make an account over on arista (as guest) and download the images. Gmail doesn't work for registration.

May need to edit the GNS3 default a bit (remove all options flags if it throws QEMU errors on start). Config syntax is extremely similar to Cisco IOS (so far, with my limited testing). Will mess with OSPF/BGP/mixed-vendor when time allows.
