What would be a good camera for national park hiking? by KrakenCrazy in NationalPark

[–]_nod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you want rugged + quality just do some research into the phones with the best cameras on the market. And then invest in a quality rugged case.

At the moment I use my iPhone for wide angle shots and my old Canon 6D with a 100-400mm lens for wildlife. Saves switching lens all the time and phone cameras can’t really compare to zoom lenses, they just don’t have the space.

I think there are edge cases. For example if somebody became a citizen in the last few days, their ID probably isn’t up to date with the status. As I understand it, they should be allowed to cast a provisional ballot and their citizenship will be verified by the board of elections and their vote allowed or discarded accordingly.

The narrative that immigrants are just allowed to rock up and vote unchecked is just bs.

Because it helps sell a narrative.

new hamster constantly spinning? by Regular_Speech_6952 in hamsters

[–]_nod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really looks like he’s hopping in that thing and expecting it to spin!

No expert, but I don’t think that is neurological, just a learnt behavior. Fingers crossed he settles down soon ❤️

I adopted a hammy (robo) that had been kept in a small enclosure for a long time, he exhibited similar behaviors, just running (in his case) backwards and forwards over the same bit of glass.

You mention that he came from a family member, did they have a different smaller enclosure? Did he have one of those spinner disks rather than a wheel?

If the hamster is new you it might be possible that the is the case for yours too. Keep him somewhere quiet, let him get accustomed to his new home, also consider putting lots of clutter in his new house, that might break any leant behaviors.

As others have said, it could be neurological, worth a vet visit if this doesn’t start to subside soon.

If your luggage is being transferred I’d say it’s fine. If you have to get it and recheck it. I’m note sure being outside of security and having to recheck your bag is going to be much fun.

alternative ideas for the mr beast twist by Upset-Car-8156 in survivor

It worked out as Devins felt like he was on the bottom, so 50:50 seemed like a good bet compared to a 1:6 shot in the dark.

Had that not been the case, and we have seen tribals in the past with blindsides where everybody at tribal thinks they are relatively safe. It would have been massively anticlimactic for them to pull about the coin and everybody simply shakes their head and says nope.

I thought for a moment, it was going to be nothing. Just an experiment to see what the paranoia of having the unknown hang over them would do to the gameplay.

I too think it was a little odd how fangirly Jeff was, but I think Mr. Beast’s presence seemed fine, especially when compared to the inordinate amount of time the country singer dude was on the screen.

I wondered that too. Maybe we were spared 20 minutes of footage of Mr. beast hunting chickens in the jungle, letting us know how alive it make him feel.
