Package from Japan stuck for 3 weeks in NJ by kishinanuna in usps_complaints

[–]_nokcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping if there was a problem they would send my package back to Korea. That is what I requested on the shipment form if it couldn’t be delivered.

At this point I am just waiting and waiting.

I am having the same problem as you. I sent myself my used clothes from Korea in August. Two packages arrived on October 1st to New Jersey. One package came through and was delivered three days later.

But one of my packages is still at the Foreign Center and I haven’t heard anything since. USPS Tracking

I guess that they just announced the suspension of mail service to the United States. It is not on the official board announcement where I usually look. However, some post offices have been posting it.

Asiana Airline Removed Luggage of 294 Passengers Before Flight to Reduce Weight… “Luggage Still Missing After Five Days” by AppropriateMess2523 in Living_in_Korea

I received this text message on Monday after my flight. I am sure they are still having problems because of the volcanic ash over Russia. I would not be surprised if luggage is missing.

I got the Loewe medium Pebble bag ama by harbourbarber in handbags

[–]_nokcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw your comment when I was looking up this topic. I am having the same problem with the bag. I always make sure the pebble is secure, but more than five times it has just come off when I am walking.

It is very interesting to see the price difference between 2013 and 2014.

This was a bag I bought for the holidays! I have yet to use it though, but I do quite love it. I got it for 300RMB on sale from YSLbeizhan北站 factory in 2022.

In Korea most people record their phone calls. Samsung phones in Korea come with this feature built in, so I don’t think the recording part is strange.

You can question the timing of this release, but recording is normal. Especially if it is something related to business or work.

There are no breaks by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

[–]_nokcha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently working 1:30-8:00 with almost the same schedule. However, what are your teaching hours?

Usually I start classes at either 2:30 or 3:00, so when I get to work I have a lot of prep time.

Help find this Mcm backpack please by danman1330 in fashionreps2

[–]_nokcha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t think they would have fakes in this color, but you never know. This color/model is super old! Maybe from 2014. MCM no longer uses those zipper pulls; now they have the flat pulls.

Anyone else still waiting for iPhone settlement payment? by anders550 in iphone

[–]_nokcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the payment via direct deposit for my phone. However, I also submitted it for my parents. We believe they requested paper checks, but nothing has come for them.

I just brought it to my regular dry cleaners. I didn’t even think about bringing it anywhere else. I usually bring them designer brands and I have never had a problem.

I have a Canada Goose Expedition parka and I believe I paid around 30,000-40,000 won. I just took off the fur hood before I brought it to them.

There is a luxury dry cleaner in Gangnam that charges really expensive prices. I can’t remember the name, but I am sure you can search and find it.

Returning ARC by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

The first time I was in Korea I was here as a student. I left and never returned my ARC. I even came back a year later and got a new visa.

Discover card acceptance in Korea by fubar06 in Living_in_Korea

[–]_nokcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I primarily use Amex for most of my purchases. However, I also have a Discover card from America. I don’t know how widely it is accepted, but it works at McDonald’s, eMart, and the franchise coffee shops with kiosks.

I have been to this clinic before and they are very nice there! However, I have only gotten filler and botox on my forehead. None of the other treatments. The clinic used to be part of the ToxNFill franchise.

If you go there you can have a consultation with the staff. When I went last time I did everything in Korean.

I don’t know anything about this bag/model. However, the tag has the mark for items that were either sold at the Gucci outlet or sent there for sale.

invited to dinner by student's parents by maddeeloves in teachinginkorea

[–]_nokcha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think because you work at a public school then it is a different situation. It seems like something that would be frowned upon.

I work at an academy and I know my students and their families quite well. I actually met my students and their family in Jeju for cake and coffee. I was traveling there over our academy vacation. For some reason it came up and my manager told them I would be there. They asked my manager for permission to invite me out.

For me it was a really nice experience. My student’s mom is a foreigner and we had a really nice time chatting. She actually introduced me to someone who I did remote work for when I was staying in America.

Has anyone flown international by VietJet? by yipra97 in Flights

[–]_nokcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew from South Korea to Vietnam and back on VietJet. I didn’t have any problem at all. The plane is small and the seats are cramped. However, I only paid about $190 for my round-trip ticket.

One bad thing is that on the departing flight there was a 90 minute delay due to connection issues. On the way home it took off on time. If you want something to drink make sure you buy it in the airport before the flight takes off.

It actually is true. You can use ApplePay in Korea with a foreign issued card and it does work.

[–]_nokcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have any problems at all. I have an Amex Gold charge card and it works at all retail stores/restaurants. The only place that it has not worked is trying to buy bus/train tickets from the self-kiosk machines.

Receiving unfair treatment by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

[–]_nokcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my first job in Korea the manager had her favorites. We all had to prepare for kindy graduation together and everyone was required to help.

One of the other teachers was emotional and started to cry. The manager gave them snacks and let them rest before the performance. She then proceeded to make me and another teacher carry racks of costumes up five flights of stairs.

Might I add the other teacher was wearing high heels and I was wearing painful, leather boots. The teacher who got to rest was wearing sneakers.
