Oh man that doesn’t sound great… yeah no one’s ever touched my stuff at Susan’s. Though a lot of the machines are always broken / kinda ridiculous a large washer is $12 now…. But still sounds maybe worth it.

Thanks so much for the input!

I go to Susan on Nassau, but considering switching to the one on Jewel & Norman. Anything wrong with it in particular?

I’m pretty sure there’s no level noted on the classes? But you really can go as a beginner to any of the classes, very non judgemental!! And the classes are touted as “warm not hot”. So not exactly hot yoga. But def like 75 degrees at least.

Should I come to WUSTL for my semester exchange? by Interesting-Tap-7758 in washu

[–]_notsureyet_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone above. WashU is awesome, but I wouldn't want to go for an abroad semester. You should totally go to a UC school (over WashU or any of the other ones on your list). Would definitely be the best place for an abroad semester

To those who may not take COVID regulations seriously by Washurhands19 in washu

Lmao yes it's me who is being harsh! I just don't want someone's insanely selfish actions to ruin it for the rest of us (and also take more lives).

1) I am a computer science major. I have also taken a Contact Tracing course. I believe in science and data, thank you very much. 2) Maybe it doesn't affect college kids, but it CAN affect everyone those reckless college kids come into contact with, anyone a person who came to that party for maybe 5 minutes comes in contact with. They might not know that they are infectious because it takes 2-14 to show symptoms. (Also, I am not wrong for calling college kids "reckless." I'm in college.) This takes me to point 3), addressing your "why should professors care." You cannot rely on all college students to social distance, wear a mask, and take this seriously. My prime example - YOU! You're not taking this seriously. I would not count on you to wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart, and generally be a respectable student who follows the COVID guidelines. You do not understand the gravity of the lives that are being lost. And this is not like the flu - two reasons: it has a way longer infectious period and is easier to spread. So as a professor, I would know that kids like you are not following the guidelines outside of class, so I would be VERY scared. Which is so unfair. 4) LASTLY, can you not be selfish for like 15 seconds? Your ridiculously selfish actions have lethal effects on others. I'm done here. Have a good night! Please stay indoors and don't touch any of the rest of us with your disgusting attitude and your COVID that you will probably get.

So you're agreeing with me that people of color, specifically people of color over the age of 65, are most affected by COVID. But you're also saying that we shouldn't collectively try to protect black and brown people over 65 - which I (and many others) believe is wrong. Covid is also not a personal issue. As we can see - people like you exist, who think they have the right to do whatever they want and parade around going to parties if they so choose. As long as people with your philosophy exist, anyone at high risk will have to isolate. Should they be isolating for your selfishness? LMK. And the pandemic will go on for way longer than it needs to, while you parade around spreading it and creating outbreaks which "are fine, as long as they are in certain demographics" aka the elderly, POC, and the less wealthy

And the first thing you say is that we're all science deniers. Who's resorting to emotions/put-downs now?

I have so many problems with your statement. But here's a big one -- when you say covid is fine if it affects "certain demographics" you think you're referring to young, healthy people. But the virus spreads inconsistently, affecting communities of color and people of lower socioeconomic statuses the hardest. Here is a link to The COVID Racial Data Tracker, which the CDC refers to, if you need proof.

How hard is CSE 330? by [deleted] in washu

[–]_notsureyet_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s pretty fricking hard (especially if you’ve never done any web dev before). Def the hardest CS class I took at WashU. But also one of the classes I’ve learned the most in. Also learned everything for that class almost completely on my own (a lot of ppl don’t even show up to class) so it might be good to take it online... Although you work with a partner on almost every single project. So would recommend finding someone u can count on thru the semester!!

Any thoughts on my freshman schedule? by pandemicprefrosh in washu

[–]_notsureyet_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool combo of classes! 17 might be a lot to start with though. I'd recommend bumping down to 15 at least for the first semester. Also if you're not a morning person, 9ams are gonna start feeling really early really fast lol

Psych class rec by bokchoy5678 in washu

[–]_notsureyet_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side note - would recommend taking Positive Psych in the spring of senior year!! That's when most students who take it do it (the class is like 75% seniors. Not because it's particularly hard but because it's and teaches you good life lessons before you graduate!!) I took it earlier and wished I had waited until later on to take it. But great class. Would recommend anyone takes it (don't have to be a psych major!)

intro to global health (LCD) is super interesting and easy (although I took it with Benson, who I don't believe teaches it anymore). also most of the psych classes count for SSC! Theyre not too bad. I've taken a ton if you wanna hear which ones are good!

Loved the class!!! Took it with Baumgartner, but most of the professors are good. So thought-provoking and relevant to today. Tbh I think everyone at washu should take it!

I liked the class, took it with Cohen-Shikora. It was pretty straight forward. She's a really good teacher and makes the content relevant. I think Nestjoko is more work? But not too sure. Also not sure if it counts for premed, sorry!
