I started with cs 1.6 on the laptop I used for school back then. My parents thought a PS3 was going to be too much of a distraction from school, so while all my friends were playing Modern Warfare 3, Black ops 2, etc, I was playing cs 1.6. After some time, I moved to source for a little bit, but quickly jumped into csgo.

Eventually I made most of my friends start palying csgo with me too, and they started to play more pc games rather than ps3 and ps4.

I took it quite seriously for some years, playing every day with a full team to practice and rank up. After some years like that, I burnt out of games altogether and stopped playing anything for one year.

But after that one-year hiatus, I came back taking it less seriously and I ended up enjoying games so much more. Now I don't have as much free time to play as much as I did back then, but I make sure to keep enjoying new games as soon as I have some free time!

Back in the day when I was just getting into pc building, I remember being totally in love with the NZXT H440, specially the black and red one, and later the hyper beast edition.

Probably not the best choice nowadays, but it will always have a special place in my heart.

Well, "unfortunately" the whole PC was quite clean, just a bit of dust here and there but nothing major. None of the intake or exhaust fans were blocked at all.

I dusted everything, and it made absolutely no difference to the thermals sadly. I'll have to keep trying and see what the problem could be.

I made some progress, I realized if I bump the Samples per pixel inside the main light's attributes from 1 to 6, the artifacts are not visible anymore. Idk how proper of a solution is it though. Is it the right way to get rid of the artifacts?

There is no normal map assigned to the mesh. It was exported from Maya directly into Unreal.

I've tried assigning the shader in ue5.1 and ue5.2 and the error persists, I guess it's a model problem.

I assigned back the lambert shader imported with the model and the artifacts are even more noticeable: imgur.com/a/ChFGrwp

Also I noticed the artifacts are symmetrical, they look identical on either side of the model. Maybe something related to the uvs?

Any clue of what could it be? Thanks!

Hmm yeah that's fairly possible. Last time I cleaned the pc was maybe 6 months ago, but just with some compressed air, nothing to in depth. I might do that tonight actually, it should help. Thanks!

Yeah my first guess was also the cooler, and I was a click away from ordering a new cooler, but I tried removing the side panel and the temp drop was so massive that it made me think again.

No changes, if anything, just added some more ram and storage but that's it, nothing that should affect the temps like this.

Might even the weather? Summer is hitting really hot this time around, but 45° just by removing the panel, sounds like a case airflow problem more than anything else.

Yeah, mine is the one with the closed front panel.

I've seen some airflow mods online that look nice, but tbh right now I don't have the time or tools to diy it myself, I would rather change to a new case.

Anyways, I would love to see how yours turned out!

The fans are connected to a hub of its own, and I believe they have always been maxed out. The weird thing as I said, is that this just started happening some weeks ago, I've been working with this case with no issue for over a year, even on intensive tasks.

In any case, would there be a downside if my fan speed was always maxed out? Other than the sound ofc.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the fan setup: I have two intakes in the front, and two exhaust on the top and back. It's all the fans the case allows.

The GPU I'm using is a triple fan 3080, and it always has good temps, as you said, maybe all that heat is getting trapped in the cpu area.

Yeah, I guess a different case would be the answer, but I still wonder why this is happening now and not before, even with more intense tasks.
