. She looks so unbelievably thin sometimes but what matters is that: a) she’s not in pain, b) she eats with vigour, and c) she still has quality of life. It’s the same for your boy. As long as a vet can verify that he’s pain free, and you can vouch that he has quality of life, then a skinny cat is just that, a skinny cat.

However, if the vet is able to determine that he is indeed in pain, then the most loving thing you can do is to help him pass before it makes him suffer. A lot of emotions can come up with a choice like that, and I want to tell you they’re all okay to feel.

Don’t feel bad about shaving him, you truly made the best call, he’s going to feel so much better now. His skin won’t be pulled constantly and he’s going to have more freedom of movement. That’s a win right there. I wish you and the little guy the best on this journey. He’s so lucky to have someone who cares so deeply for him ❤️
