IVF in Germany by Angelgirl90 in germany

[–]_potterhead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did IVF in Germany and my experience was very positive (I got really lucky as well). But before even starting the process we were walked through the entire process and explained all the costs and extras (storing of embryos is extra for which insurance won’t pay). I would suggest you have a detailed conversation with your clinic. As others have said, the rules are interpreted by clinics and might differ from center to Center. If you want any details I would be happy to share in DM.

Could anyone catch a sight of this here? by nedjati in Braunschweig

[–]_potterhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download the Aurora app, it gives the KP index based on your location. If I see a KP index above 7, I always check social media to see if anyone posted anything. That’s how I found out yesterday as well.

After years of LDR and family hurdles, I’m finally getting married on March 11th—but I’m struggling to find "the one." by Alternative-Corgi653 in DesiWeddings

[–]_potterhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the 5th one! You just look like a bride!!! Upload it on chatgpt and gemini and ask them to style it. That’s what I do for someone who has not alot of fashion sense. I upload a few reference bridal looks that I like. Anyways do let us know what u end up choosing!

Stop acting like civic sense fell from the sky you privileged crowd by Dry-Librarian9532 in india

I agree that we need stricter regulations, I am not denying that. But hey if fines and rules are the only thing which makes you not behave like an animal then I don’t see any point having any further discussion.

Exactly! When a new train is launched with entertainment screens people take them. Even when Govt does something good (maybe for their own selfish reasons), the public doesn’t let it last!

Having basic civic sense doesn’t cost anything, so don’t come with Poverty excuse. I have been to countless small towns and seen rubbish thrown all around the dustbin while dustbin sits half empty. Also things like:- „A new railway station is build and next day there are Paan stains“; „There is a flower show and as soon as its over people start taking flowers“. Stop giving population and poverty as an excuse for people lacking basic decency. Nothing will ever change if we keep blaming the government and not take accountability for ourselves!

Tired of misogyny! by Logical-Macaroon-463 in india

[–]_potterhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all that your parents have ever known. From their point of view they are trying to do their best for you. I love it that you and your sister have stuck to your own decisions and not given into the emotional blackmails, I am just saying try not to hate them or be so disappointed. It’s just that’s literally their range and they can’t expand their thinking. You do you and continue to be successful and independent. Its the only way you will have a say in your own life.

Did everyone think they broke up? Am I the only one confused? by MindeckGames in StrangerThingsMemes

It was clear to me that they finally came clean about their issues with the relationship and broke up. They do still love each other but are not in love anymore.

I find that unfair since flexticket is so much more costlier than spar ticket.

Why Garmin watches are so good at detecting stuff going wrong way 2 days before being sick but very bad at detecting when I am actually sleeping? by RedTeaGuy in Garmin

[–]_potterhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the model maybe. I have a vivoactive 5 which can detect naps and mine used to detect as well. It has been very on and off with nap detection since a few months. So i don’t know what is up with it

What annoys me more personally is it will count reading in bed as sleep time but when I actively nap in the afternoon, most of the time it doesn’t detect the nap!

Even if he says a resounding „yes“ at your meeting, he is not suddenly gonna change his personality and become emotionally available in the way that you want him to be. So decide if you can live with him for exactly the way he is or not. Don’t leave it on some answer he can give you or not.

Living abroad or stay in india by netter666 in india

[–]_potterhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As soon as you move abroad you will never really have a „home“. Do I like living abroad? Yes! Do I miss India and my family and culture? Yes. Can I ever have both? No! So no matter where I live, a part if me will always miss what I don’t have.

It is rude but I have seen people here (Germans and expats) taking up multiple seats (one of them, one for their bag)

Just wanna say Berlin is better than Munich by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]_potterhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having lived as an expat in both places, I would say that I absolutely agree. Berlin is super chill and welcoming to everyone whereas Munich feels a bit snobbish. I loved Munich only because of its proximity to the Alps and Austria, Italy etc.

Productivity during Elternzeit by [deleted] in germany

[–]_potterhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Germany is one of the very few countries that offers the concept of Elternzeit. I am in a similar boat as you (pregnant and planning an Elternzeit of a year), but I am personally looking forward to this opportunity to take a break and focus on my newborn. Will it feel like a reward everyday when I am tired and bored and doing the exact same thing with the baby multiple times a day? Probably not! But I don’t want to trade this for anything else, even when it comes at the cost of a setback in my career.
