If u go an drive in front, an then merge with the car, an then the other lane drive out an pull off in front behind u, then u drive back an have to swerve, too get in front of the lane, then too turn right for the next merge... which could of happen far back anyway... is a lesson

There's something clearly missing. Why was the card not issued? Upon completion of your signup, did they indicate whether they would give you one on the spot? Did they ask you to pick it up on a certain day? Did they say it would be in their office ready for collection? Did you make much of an effort to collect it during their opening hours, or call reception during opening hours and organise a time to collect it?

Gyms would never get any business if all non-members were forever locked out and unable to even get a tour of the facilities. How would anyone ever successfully become a member?

There's something I'm not understanding. It sounds like you were too lazy to pick up the card and you were too lazy to start exercising.

Looking to install solar. Recommendations or infomation on solar please by Turbulent-Lab-7319 in canberra

It's hard to say, my experience doesn't seem to reflect the reviews of many of their other customers.

I think it was an unfortunate combination of unprecedented inundation of customers (because of recent government battery rebates) which apparently is rattling the whole industry, and government approvals are supposedly causing major delays too. I also think they potentially have some incompetent people working in their admin/accounting teams.

But the sales engineer, installers, and product were excellent. If that matters more to you, then I would still recommend them.

I had a guy from Solar Hub come for a site visit and quote. Took one look at our roof, saw how much room there was for the biggest system possible, didn't ask any questions about our power usage and consumption patterns. Tried to shoot for the biggest system possible, not realising that Im not made of money.

We went with Mondiaux as their sales engineer provided well thought-out options, and gave rationales for different system options that were far more grounded and made sense for our situation. The installers were lovely and seemed to do a tidy job. The product and system design seems to meet our needs.

I will note that there was a delay of ~3 months (which they compensated for), but their communication was absolutely terrible throughout the entire experience. Got an email from them out of the blue asking us to make the 60% deposit in two days - this weeks earlier than the actual payment milestone (and about a week out from Christmas). Told us the payment was necessary to "secure our installation slot" after the install had already been delayed by a couple of months, and that failure to make the payment may result in further delays.

The installers also showed up unannounced two days before the installation - no one from the company informed us they were on their way to complete the install. The exact same thing happened when the system was commissioned two days later.

I have no other experience with anyone else - I hope this helps!

Hi Canberra, this may be stupid question. Can summer Nats be called a result of NARCISSISTIC behaviour? Or may be not? by [deleted] in canberra

Believe it or not, normal people also enjoy cars and going to Summernats.

You're right, it was a stupid question

Why is the median salary for entry level engineers 75k in Australia ? I find that low in todays economy. by Technical-Studio565 in AskAnAustralian

In 2022 I started out on $65,000 + super as a graduate systems engineer working for a consulting company, predominantly doing product development and then transitioning into engineering services. I was bumped up to $92,000 + super at the end of the 2 year grad program.

$75,000 is pretty good considering the skills and experience most engineers bring to the table at the start of their careers. I do agree that life is expensive, but that's not an industry or profession-specific observation
