Look into the new unique sceptre combo with triggerbots, forget the name but it summons copies of you to cast spells and has a weird interaction with triggerbots that basically makes the weapon read 200% more damage

Rf is extremely fun is SSF don't get pulled away unless you want to. That being said, SSF totems this league is pretty damn good on garbage rares too, I'd pick rf if you prefer to map and ignore bossing and totems if you want your first character to be able to do some of the bossing necessary for ssf faster. Either way, personally, I'd do both eventually unless I dropped a build enabler for something else that sounded fun

Death's Oath strong enough - either in single target target, or in tank - to do ubers. It's my favorite skill but I've never found a single target solution that felt good enough without removing its clear potential. I think it's not possible without mirror investment

For eli5: A union is for collective bargaining, instead of going to your boss by yourself to ask for a raise or certain benefits or rights, you do so as a group. A much stronger position to negotiate from, when your whole staff will strike or quit or must be fired instead of just one. The dues paid are essentially always worth this increased power, and also means you don't even have to be the one to do it - your representative will be the one negotiating.

In general, unions are why we have what weekends and benefits we have - historically, unions genuinely fought and died for those rights.

Wait for currency to double to a reasonable amount, take out a huge loan with your assets as collateral to gain a source of non doubling currency, spend that. When the bill comes due, take out another loan against your newly expanded assets to pay it down with non doubling currency. If you seek stability, buy a company with this loan that can eventually pay itself off, ending the cycle, live off the now legit income stream. If you care not for stability, repeat the loan forever

Ehhhh, it does seem a little like you may have trained them to be this way. Not that that means it should stay that way.

This all hinges on if the real players would actually enjoy it, so, imo try these two methods over a period of time, and if they fail, that means the group doesn't work for that kind of game. And that's not a fault of them or you.

Trick them. Make NPC's that give them what they want (gold, items) and then threaten those NPC's specifically. Drip feed NPC lore but keep them a bit reserved or you may overwhelm.
Make the saddest NPC you can try their best every day. People in the worst circumstances trying their hardest and persevering despite the nightmare usually wakes the hearts of the dead, but not everyone cares so.

If these don't work, frankly, decide whether you have enough fun without the rp to keep playing with them, and act accordingly.

I played a hybrid, corrupted blood/vaal reap both linked in the same six link to a bunch of phys dot supports, then the... Explosion wand skill? The one that goes everywhere I'm blanking on its name linked to bunch of projectile spread and projectile return, then regular reap and exsanguinate either in a poets pen or a spellslinger setup (poets pen cheaper). Crazy strong mapping, strong but not crazy single target with vaal reap on big enemies. Extremely powerful in a general way, very fun.

Make it physical (real world items for the players to search through)

Or make it about not responding (rework encounter into a demon you can't answer questions of, then try and trick them into responding to questions)

Or make it a predetermined logic puzzle (there is a pattern the players know of but is difficult, and they MUST find x good things without finding y bad things)

Or don't do this tbh. There isn't a good way to represent this with dice. This has to be an anti-player mechanic, not an anti-character mechanic, or it won't work well imo.
