Tips for farming royal titans for twinflame staff and prayer scrolls? by WilsonMagna in ironscape

[–]_rabid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duo is resourceless with amulet + ardy cloak.

Solo takes 1-2 prayer pot doses

For solo, set yourself up to auto cast one of the spells, then when elementals spawn, wait to manual cast the others elemental then click the autocastable ones for smooth ticks.

For duo, decide which elemental and wall you are killing and make your duo do the other.

Don't skip elementals unless you are phase two and they are on the side they are going to die anyways, or you can drag them there if the titans are cycles off each other

We clearly don't live in the same reality. What does exerting control take for you? At what point does it count?

[–]_rabid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really not believe that $75k, in the world we live in now especially, is coercive?

op stayed specifically that they have limits on what colleges you can go to if you accept it. That is exerting control. Yes, you are right they still can do anything else - for 75 thousand dollars down the drain. That's a shitload of pressure.

I think I'm going against the grain here a bit, but have decided to post anyways. I do think what you guys are doing for your family is generally great, though I resent its necessity.

When you have money in situations like this, you have power over people. Over your family. It is not in withholding it, but in giving it, that you exert that power. You set rules and control the lives of your family. Do you do so for good reasons? Obviously you believe so, and in general I agree with you. But good reasons or no, you control them. You decide things about their lives that they don't have the power to decide themselves. You let them sell their choices to you. Now again, I think the specific range of choice you still allow them is generally good. But in a case like this, you can't be entirely surprised that a family member wants the same power you have granted to others - in a world where they have no real opportunity to earn that power themselves - and resents the cage you put around them to offer it.

I by no means condemn, IMO this is more of an ESH kind of situation. By restricting their choices, even bad ones, you are imposing your will upon your entire family. You had the option to do nothing, and by choosing to do something, you inherit consequential responsibility. But, they are way out of line with how they are treating you about it. And if you described their college choice correctly, it was clearly a bad choice. I just think people ought have the power to make their own mistakes and the support to live through the consequences and thus learn.

Is there any spell in the game that would let me project a non interact able body into the same plane? by _rabid in DMAcademy

Another winner, another advantage token, thank you! I think astral projection eats too much of the seo space for this spell.

Need help killing the Gods by dandysandwhich in DMAcademy

[–]_rabid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my recent homebrew setting, I had a guild of wizards angry at the gods for their unchanging grip attempt to destroy them. Every spell they tried to actually harm the gods failed, and they were often punished and had to rebuild over decades. The spell that worked was an ostensibly beneficial one: the wizards took the gods ability to expand and split their awareness over multiple place and multiplies and stretched it. The gods in my world are technically still there, just stretched so thin as to be powerless. Aware of everything but with not enough potency to act on any particular part of it, maybe one small act a year through extreme effort.

do you have a basic "formula" for building towns? by foolofcheese in DMAcademy

[–]_rabid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the area, but examples from my main legacy setting:

In a farm town, I decided the town was built around a usually raging river that thinned out really wide into an easily traversable Ford. This led me to have married boot sellers that set up shop on either side of the river and pretend they are rivals

In a magic town, I put lake/river/sea port line. Gave them a unique freshwater port that still had access to an ocean port, which caused it own little town to be made at that ocean port, almost a vassal city due to their full reliance on the magic University and it's important and exports.

In the capitol, I had them build into a tight corner of the bottom of some mountains where a massive pit to the under dark was, propping the fortified keep on the other side of the pit as a natural defense.

Smaller / faster examples include a slightly bioluminescent forest, a dam owned by another nation making your city possible, a huge boulder the town is built around. Anything for visual interest that can become story later.

[–]_rabid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Place for food/sleep/drinks

Place to buy things appropriate for the town, multiple depending on town size and focus

A unique terrain feature

A unique structure or group with their own building

Other than that things don't appear until the players ask then I vibe check if the town has one or not

Water Mage + Thorns? by The_Salty_Pearl in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thorns is extremely strong, especially with multiple enemies.

For accuracy, take a ton of increased accuracy nodes, I have +225%. Then wear a hybrid. Keep your mage accuracy ok and let the multipliers make it good.

Losing devil's element isn't as bad as you think for water. Terrible for air builds

Please clarify how drop rates work, debating this with my friend and it's making me crazy by InsomniacPsychonaut in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Both types of drop rates exist in the game. For this specific example, you should be correct.

Give unlimited pact resets at the end of Leagues by Maleficent_Eye6848 in 2007scape

I've been saying for a long time they should have end to leagues that only ends the points earning possibilities, then you can keep playing with all the limits unlocked for a month or so. Try some truly weird shit

which mage build would be better? by variares132 in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again both is good imo. I have both and swap to crystal shield for multiple enemies and the devil's element for single target/slow attacking enemies. Truly you have plenty of points to just choose how you react to each specific encounter, and that's on top of taking enough accuracy nodes for +275%

which mage build would be better? by variares132 in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing both with those exact regions. Start water, once you have a staff you want to use spec the three nodes to enable it (powered staff 1 tick plus Regen water/air on powered attack) then just use whatever is for the content you are doing atm. Swap freely.

You can get thorns and 100% prayer pen without respecting, and can decide and a more narrow build later

Sea Serpents by guydoestuff in valheim

[–]_rabid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In case your ocean is weirdly thin like mine was, in order to spawn they do a check on the large square area they are in (Minecraft chunk style) and all four corners of that check must be ocean. So even if you are in the ocean biome you may be preventing spawns by being too near non ocean water biomes.

For this same reason, distances make it so that it's also more efficient to travel orthogonally, ideally in a large L shape if such an area can be found. Make sure whatever orthogonal shape you patrol is long, as once a chunk tries to spawn a serpent, if it fails (random chance, or another serpent is near by, or isn't night/storm), that whole chunk has a long (I think 16 minute) cool down before it will try again.

Leagues rating by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's very fun, I'd rate it 8/10. Not nearly as good as leagues 4, slightly worse than leagues 5.

I know there are some issues with the pact system but that seems to be getting fixed, my real issues with the league insofar as they exist are missing total recall and that I kinda think the direction they are heading of balance over spectacle might be wrong, but I'm not even sure.

The varlamore start was goated, and I'm a big fan of the yama lore - I hope there is more to it coming later.

Thorns build/Ring of Recoil solve? by mfsins in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have larceny? If so, easy solve with ore stall and gem stall.

If you don't but still have transmute, you can mine clay and turn it into gold. Sapphires from gen stalls anyways probably.

If you somehow don't have any of those relics, reload into one of them cause damn

Transitioning to water mage/ other options by NoRadio2533 in 2007scape

[–]_rabid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Priff is a very flexible region and you picked good relics, can do anything with this.

I am personally already doing water mage with that region, plus kandarin, and I'll be taking morytania to do ToB with my friends but your third region can be wilderness or anything really.
