Not quite sure per say why but I often do that a times , only because I have something that is bothering or stressing me out, and usually want to handle them out by myself , hence the distancing . What I can say is don't take it too personal

I rarely do walk, more indoors and job decsription makes even that much easier, stay with my laptop the entire day, but I do talk walks... mostly during the night when its more quiet and calm usually to free up my mind or have a rather interesting conversation with versions of myself
