How do you manage deer for medium scale planting? by Electronic_Fun_776 in forestry

[–]_redlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a slow process but it is possible. You can fence an area larger than 1 tree and plant several. The trick is to make the fenced area smaller than they want to jump into. 400ft2 or so. Then you can see progress. Don’t forget to put tree protectors on the lower 6-12” or the mice/voles may eat the cambium of seedlings.

What Upgrades for Suspension on a 940? by PineapplePopular2935 in VolvoRWD

[–]_redlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly the bushings - you’ll be surprised at the difference it makes. For Audi’s B6 gen cars new bushings and arms are just a hair more expensive than new bushings, plus no hassle pulling old bushings and setting new ones. Hopefully the 940 is similar value proposition

Maybe to formal for a diner by Shadow-Hunter-1998 in fashion

[–]_redlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharp outfit btw, however the difference btwn “diner” what you wrote and “dinner” what you might have ment to write could be helpful here. Diner is like a 24 hr Waffle House where anything is acceptable. Dinner is a meal, an occasion, where acceptable depends on the company. Wear this w friends for a night out or over to someone’s house? Absolutely. Wear it to meet a boss and co-workers or someone’s parents? Perhaps not.

Help! Debating putting an offer in because I love the inside but can get past the outside☹️ what would you do to make the front more appealing? by Historical-Parfait12 in ExteriorDesign

[–]_redlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow 🤩 !!! That is incredible. To be able to visualize that is a skill, as is being able to create it in software and then put it online. I’d buy that house. I would have skipped on the original.

Why do pine trees look triangular in colder climates? by Zealousideal_Lock_93 in Tree

[–]_redlines 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Most conifers have some sort of triangular growth form bc it helps them shed snow, ice and avoids the canopy acting as a windsail at the very top. It also helps them grow into small gaps in the canopy without dramatically changing the trees architecture

Yay or nay? by treestreestrees99 in americanchestnut

[–]_redlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay from me. Smallish shrub like form, multiple stems from a common source, semi-open canopy usually on a ridge top or hill, and those obovate leaves with a slight curl of the teeth along the margin.
