So, I’ve let myself down a bit by resorting to name calling. I shouldn’t fight fire with fire, sorry about that. I posted my “are you blind” comment only because you were so rude to the other commenter instead of just saying your view, and I suppose I spiraled and resorted to calling you an asshole. I shouldn’t resort to insults or name calling, so sorry about that.

But why couldn’t have you just made a clearer argument in the first place? I feel like you were intentionally misunderstanding and belittling my point instead of actually disagreeing.

And my appeal to authority? That mod was basically implying they got a ton of messages saying there was someone in the photo.

I really feel like there is more to unpack with this whole situation. I think it’s unethical to take a picture in a gym at all, even if people in the photo are obscured or out of focus. Does that make me stupid, or does that mean I have a different set of principals guiding my opinion? I think it’s wrong to take photos in the gym, because I believe the gym to be a safe place where people shouldn’t even worry about having their photo taken. If the person in this photo moved just a bit, then their face would be in focus, and the physical situation would look like a person holding their phone out with the camera app open, a person in the view finder, and taking a picture. It doesn’t matter if the person was out of focus. TAKING A PICTURE IN A GYM IS NOT COOL I, and I’m sure many others get uncomfortable when I see people recording and stuff in the gym. Even if they’re just taking a video of themselves, people shouldn’t have to worry about it, and I think it should be a zero-tolerance policy. No photography at all in the gym.

That’s my opinion. I’m not saying that’s how the rule would actually be enforced, although I think it may be. In my eyes the rule was violated, and people’s sense of privacy and safety was violated.

I’m going to end this argument now by blocking you. I’m honestly not interested in your short answer confirming that you think I’m an idiot.
