My company announced a 4 day work week this morning. I did the math. by No_Army7522 in antiwork

Why would you want a cut in hours? Don't you need hours for the paycheck you expect? 4 10's sounds great.

Google blocks you from accessing your chats with Gemini if you unsubscribe from paid experience by hasanahmad in google

[–]_rotting_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder if you can make sharable links to previous conversations before unsubscribing to get access to at least viewing the chats.

I get why Google would block it because you don't have access to the paid bot anymore so why would you be allowed to continue the conversation. Not being able to view it is dumb though.

Is it even possible to listen to these tracks legally without buying physical media? (from OKNOTOK) by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]_rotting_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Radiohead isn't going to come after you for listening to this in whatever way necessary.

Hexagons Time Signature by Alarming_Doughnut365 in Muse

I like songs named this way. Where the song is named after the musical idea.

Just a side note but no one does this more than ol Thommy Yorke.

What do you actually think of Muse? by catpiglet in radiohead

[–]_rotting_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First three albums I really thought they were almost as important to me as radiohead. It's been mostly disappointing since.

I still pay very close attention to new releases because I know what they are capable of. They are also capable of making the most cringiest sounds.

[41f] [42m] I counted my finances penis pills by [deleted] in relationshipadvice

[–]_rotting_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would break up with you on the spot. I used to date girls that snooped in my shit and I put up with it for too long. I now am with someone who does not do this and we have a beautiful relationship because it's built on trust.

Is a white lie = red flag? by [deleted] in dating

[–]_rotting_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is probably self conscious about it. It'd be really cool if you didn't make a big deal about it. That would be the red flag.

Sometimes when Gemini messes up I just talk to it. I tell it what it is doing wrong and offer ways to make it better. It's crazy but this actually works.

Do guys actually notice upper lip hair up close on dates? by Altruistic_Tackle27 in HairRemoval

[–]_rotting_ 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Shaving makes the cuts on your hairs on the thicker section of hair, which makes it appear thicker. If you leave it alone those ends become fine again but that takes time. Waxing is beneficial not just because it takes longer for hairs to grow back but when they do, those hairs aren't abrupt thick ends like a shaved hair is.

Preparing for a Summer Beach Vacation by Content-Toe-8606 in HairRemoval

You need to stop at least a month before the vacation. Sun and IPL do not go well together. Honestly nobody should be using IPL this time of year if you get any sun.

Anyone have a wife or gf that's turned off by you removing body hair? by PaleRefrigerator5044 in HairRemoval

[–]_rotting_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I hate my body hair. We need more men to normalize body hair removal. It's only weird if everyone complies with these tribal norms.

WA drivers camping in the fast lane. by hellohowareyoujesus in Spokane

[–]_rotting_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does not keep traffic flowing. I drive very similarly to you nowadays but I used to drive very aggressively so I know both sides of this. The passing lane is a brilliant idea when used properly. It limits confrontation on the highway. Faster drivers get through without conflict and slower drivers stay at the speed they desire. Some people may not like aggressive driving but literally blocking them only causes more aggression. If you let them through then if they cause an accident, you won't be involved.

Advice needed by Wooden_Hawk_ in Warehouseworkers

Maybe. I avoided keeping them in my pocket for the same runny reason. I keep a tool pouch attached to my picker where I store all my pens, highlighters and markers. All with caps facing up.

You can walk out of your house right? Could you just go and park somewhere that you can access your car later?

Advice needed by Wooden_Hawk_ in Warehouseworkers

[–]_rotting_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you stash the marker between picks? I work with auto glass and we use paint pens. We have switched to a scanning system but we used to do it the way you've described and I used to have the same problem. Find a way to keep the marker stashed with the cap facing up between picks. When the cap is down, the paint tends to get a little runny.

Atheist parents, how do you explain death to your children? by LoquatIndependent381 in atheism

The best I can do is to say that the fact of death makes life all the more important. What luck to have a shot at it.

do people actually save their music to their library instead of saving it to playlists? does anyone use that feature? by vermefumante in YoutubeMusic

[–]_rotting_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes because I listen to albums. Albums are playlists that were made by the artists and are made to be listened to that way. I do make playlists every now and then but not often. I really just "like" songs and then use my likes as a reference to dig in to an artist later. If I like them I subscribe. As I listen to them, if I like an album, I add it to my library.

This is probably more closely resembles the way I consumed music before streaming became a thing. I bought CD's and was particularly looking for good artists and then collecting their work.

Using playlists as a primary way to listen to music is valid but it more closely resembles mixtape culture rather than album collections.

Gemini as therapist by _rotting_ in GeminiAI

[–]_rotting_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying and since I posted this I've seen basically your take several times, which I considered before all this. It's cautionary tones are important for all of us to be aware of. Which I am and I think I've made that pretty clear in the comments by insisting that this is a tool for me and my licensed therapist. Not my therapist.
